Here goes talk about who Cassie is and what her role in the D&B sage is/will be.
Cassie was mentioned in the swimming video by Bree. She asked Daniel about her as she apparently went to school with him and he denied any recollection with a constipated look on his face. Bree said that they used to walk around the track together.

Some foreshadowing? a comment from The DanielBeast
lonelygirl15 (2 months ago) Daniel likes a girl named...wait a minute, he'd kill me if I said who I think he likes, she went to his high school with him.

Oh, I didn't know that was said!
--but then why would he deny? Perhaps to save himself the embarassment, ha ha ha.

his response to her seemed to be the nadir in his acting job up to that point.

Compare to the way he acted when Bree was asking what her father had asked him. I think this is the Daniel actor doing "evasive." (...which I kinda like. Reminds me of me as a teen - smart enough to know not to answer, but too dumb to come up with a convincing response on the fly.)

If everything in the dialogue is being thought out, it may be important that Bree says, "Whatever happened to" Cassie.
Imagine if in a movie you heard a character say, "Whatever HAPPENED to that girl, Cassie."
Wouldn't you expect to find out something bad happened to them?
Stuff that disturbs me about the Swimming episode:
--Bree starts off joking that Daniel is going to kill her in the woods. -Then she "bashes the brains out" of insects -She wonders what happened to a girl -Daniel apparently pretends not to remember this girl -Cassie may not have "graduated" (Because she died?) -Bree spends a lot of time underwater.
It's hard to believe that the creators don't want us wondering about Cassie.
Did Daniel kill her? Is he really a Danielbeast?

I agree Daniel's acting was really good here. Bree either went off-script and they decided to keep it, or I think 'Daniel' really has no clue who 'Cassie' is, so I don't think he did anything bad to her or anyone else, not yet anyway. I agreed with a posting in the other forum suggesting that 'Cassie' is actually none other than Bree. Aka split-personality Bree. Who's so crazy she needs home schooling (?). That was the vibe I had watching the vid, but I don't handle horror very well, I think I dampened that thought down and just carried watching the pretty picture I think it's a cool idea if they go with it. It plays on the whole "who are we actually watching" thing, which we're busily trying to find out I guess...

I considered the split-personality thing, as well. Even though I don't think this is going to wind up being Christian propoganda, I can definitely think of one evangelist who is obsessed with the whole split personality/demon posession thing. Maybe I'm underestimating Christian media's creatvity.....

I was and still am under the impression, that she was talking about herself. If Casse was in his class and walked round a track with him, why would he deny knowing of her existance? I totally don't get it at all.
Interesting points from Game Theory, esp the under water one.....There is there but I can't get within 100miles let alone put my finger on it.
Cheers, Wixy

I thought LG intimated that she used to walk around the track with Cassie, not DB.
Also, I could see DB denying Cassie's existence if he now likes LG and she is teasing him about an old interest to get a rise out of him...

Wait wait wait...hold up. Bree is homeschooled. There may be a plot hole with the Cassie thing here.
I know it's perfectly understandable that her and daniel talk about everything and she would know this, but if she knows this, he should too. Which would lend to the theory that he's lying because he likes Bree (which I agree with).

In one of her posts on You Tube, she explains to someone that she went to school with Daniel for one month but that the other kids were so mean, she had to be pulled out. Daniel was the only person that was nice to her, so that's why they are friends.

Thanks Piscin, had forgotten about this. This actually might explain her interest in Cassie, because she mentions that everyone was mean to Cassie. And yes, Piscin, agreed, it was Bree that walked around the track with Cassie, not Daniel, I just went back and watched.
It seems that maybe Daniel actually doesn't know who Cassie was, maybe because Cassie was an outcast.

Does anyone else think it's strange that kids were mean to Bree so she had to be pulled out of school?
Who would be mean to Bree? She's nice, cute, inoffensive.
They seem to have gone out of their way to tell us about Bree's experience at Daniel's school, and I think that anything in written comment is a thought-out part of the story, so this is possibly an important fact. And now Bree says another girl was mistreated at the same school.
Hmm...maybe... There's something wrong with Bree. She can't manage in regular society. Daniel befriends and protects her. He's the only one who understands. And now we're getting hints about what's wrong with Bree...
