*warning warning warning* this will not be a useful post!
I think that in light of the discovery that this is a story being told, the Cassie angle seems even more important.
If it's a story that has been written and laid out ahead of time, I think it would be worth it to start talking about this aspect again.
If it's a story that they are writing as they go along, then speculation is sort of pointless...

Who is making the decision whether it is pre-scripted or not?

Who is making the decision whether it is pre-scripted or not? As far as i've read, no one has even brought that topic up. But I think it's an interesting one. I'll admit another addiction here.... I'm a big LOST fan. Active on the message boards, dissecting the episodes, all that crap. And in that environment, when it is assumed that the plot is scripted out in advance and that the questions brought up have answers already written, and clues in the current episodes as to how future episodes will play out, well then it's fun to try to guess what will happen. ...to see if we can put the clues together and make accurate predictions. If it's being written as it goes along, well then that sort of ruins all that fun. It takes the viewer participation angle out of it. My opinion, be it ever so humble, is that the same applies here. If this is scripted out, and the future plot is already planned, and maybe there are even clues as to that plot, then trying to put the pieces together is worthwhile. but if it's written on the fly, and the creators themselves aren't even sure what will happen next. Well then we mostly just sit and watch. In the LOST world the writers came out and said that they won't pose a mystery in an episode that they don't already know the answer to.

does anyone else look at the Wikipedia thing that was posted and see a very interesting correlation to the whole story going on in these videos? Kind of like an updated version of the myths?

If this is scripted out, and the future plot is already planned, and maybe there are even clues as to that plot, then trying to put the pieces together is worthwhile. but if it's written on the fly, and the creators themselves aren't even sure what will happen next. Well then we mostly just sit and watch. It could be that the creators are culling the message boards for ideas and taking the story where people seem to want it to go. This sort of audience participation theory has been suggested and criticized because if the viewers are essentially writing it, the plot is predictable by definition. I think it was tempestarii that posted that she dosn't want to write it, she wants them to write it and for all of us to try to figure it out, and I agree. But what if the creators do the opposite, in that they read the message boards, but then purposefully only do things that haven't been mentioned on the boards? It would guarantee surprise, but it would prevent us from having the satisfaction of guessing correctly what direction they're going.

ok so i just really started to get into this thing tonight but there was a band shabutie (no longer in existence) who had a song "cassiopeia" with lyrics such as "Cassio...could you love me? More...more... Can we be friends? On a journey to debate, I call freedom" and "Why the f*ck would you do anything to work out your world It's not free at all" if sung from daniels point of view? cassiopeia is the "freed" bree? and brees world is "not free at all"? and why would she "do anything to work" it out could be some reference to the ceremony? i understand how vague a reference that is...just thought it was interesting how it could possibly play into the split personality theory

So I read where Virginia wrote about the Cassie spin-off on the press thread that may have some ties to the original series, so what does everyone think of that? I just watched the video and it looks like the same place that Bree & Daniel went hiking, I wonder how this may fit into the story? I also went to the map that can be found by going to the url on the video, which also says help me. Very strange stuff.

Maybe Cassie is sending a plea from beyond the grave...can anyone tell what was dropped in the water? Cassie also says that Bree lies, so I guess we have to find out what Bree lied about. *edit* Also...does she say "I was here" or something like that at the beginning? I think at the end she says "Come and get it." Who's up for a trip to Cali?

I'm being serious though XD
I was looking at the size of that bag...and it's too small to be a body bag.
OH SNAP, maybe Bree killed her there in some crazy ritual, and tries to go on hikes with Daniel to make sure all the evidence is where she left it.
Thoughts?

And the "lie" could be Bree saying something like "I really liked her" or pretending to like her...even though she really killed her in some crazy Crowley-like ritual.

BB, I knew you were serious. I think just before the bagthing hits the water, it is not head shaped, although it does look like one to me when it first enters frame. It's freaking me out.
Cassie wants/needs our help...I guess that hushmail was plot driven after all. I'm reminded of my childhood, seeing "Watcher in the Woods."

My take on this is, they are showing us where exactly the swimming hole is, and they tossed a bag of something into the water. At the end of the video she whispers "Come and get it". Cassie also said "I was here" at the beginning of the video. So I think "cassie" put the bag into the water, and she wants someone to go out to that location and retrieve it. It's like Geo-Caching!!! Anyone in that area should go there and film themselves doing it. This looks like audience participation is wanted by whoever made that video. The creators want us back in the "game" I think instead of talking about / investigating the creators and actors.
