PATTERN RECOGNITION SPOILERS BELOW!
I apologize if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but Pattern Recognition contains an unresolved subplot in which the protagonist's mother believes that the spirits of the dead are speaking through audio recordings made of empty rooms, etc. Specifically, she's trying to understand messages from a deceased/missing family member. The recordings are audio inkblots much like this "Cassie" recording.
This makes me think that whoever's behind this intentionally set out to recreate the "footage" aspects of Pattern Recognition and is now pulling in other elements as well.
PR's a fantastic, well written book, btw, and I highly recommend it.

I don't think anyone knows and that's why people are trying to figure it out.

Is it supposed to be of 'Cassie' though? I mean it's assumed that it's supposed to be but it could really be of anything.

As said before this is a confirmed prank by Joe Bourrie. I don’t think anything else really that needs to be said on the topic. If you want to try your hand at making out whispers by all means play our game: alissabrooke.proboards56.com/index.cgi?board=fun&action=display&thread=1157591891“This is my only post here, so no need to reply. Yes, my friend and I played a prank on miss Heffernan. Yes, it was obviously a hoax. And yes, she was probably playing along. I recieved a “cold call” email from her, and replied honestly… then I thought it might be kind of funny to see what her reaction was to a bit of a prank. I can’t believe she even responded at all. LonelyGirl15 is a reality game, where people see clues that (sometimes) don’t really exist. It amazed me that she found a supposed connection between a picture of Crowley and my junior school project. I am not a Thelemite, nor did I even realize how big the cult was when I named the game. The name was taken from my knowledge of the existance of the cult along with the meaning of the word (Will, or Willpower). I hope the conclusion of this game ends up being something worthwhile (i.e. not an advertisement for some bad horror movie), it seems alot of people are spending alot of time with it. Good luck with the mystery, and I hope that you guys can appreciate a little prank (since I haven’t recieved any angry emails from Virginia, it seems that she isn’t taking it too hard).
