But when people say things about you that aren't true it's hard not to pursue a course of action that will get you some measure of vindication. But my major question when it comes to this is- who was he slandered too? It's not the like Creators blacklisted him, spread rumours and lies, bad-mouthed him, etc. In fact, they have chosen to not touch this situation to the extent that they haven't commented on it besides the fact that certain things going on with them necessitated personell changes. The fans, both here and at the phorum, know nothing about what jsmith may or may not have done, and all talk of "he stole from the Creators" or whatnot was only brought up by jsmith himself. In fact, if he had never said anything, we wouldn't have known one ounce of the details surrounding this. Furthermore, beyond that little detail I picked up, the phorumites and Breeniverse know next to nothing about jsmith, I bet half of them don't even know he was fired. If this was a public lambasting he had received, that's one thing. But basically it seems like the Creators fired him and made some (false?) accusations in doing so. These accusations don't seem to have been told to anyone except jsmith. We don't even know him, this is the internet, if we saw him on the street no one would know. I really don't get this whole need to save his reputation that the Creators allegedly trashed and stuff. Now if they have told others these accusations or have ruined your reputation in some way which I've just been missing please let me know. But otherwise all it seems like is they said some hurtful things to you and you didn't like it.

i don't see why we need to be harsh to jsmith. he seems only willing to say some things right now. maybe he'll say more, maybe he won't. he clearly takes the firing personally, as i suspect any one of us would. the creators have had made some blunders before, despite their best of intentions, so lets not convict anyone yet.
and slainte, i'll save a balloon for you. and even that ne'er-do-well jayhenry.

I concur with Milo and suggest all parties just drop this whole line of discussion regarding JD.
What purpose does further discussion serve? Is it the least bit entertaining? Meh. Move. On.

Since this thread has veered wildky off topic and isn't really about Miles responding to criticism anymore, I'd say we either get back on track, or close this down.

Buka chose a much more engaging way to (albeit vague) relate to us via his experiences, perhaps I am jaded by his Creativity. I loved the Stoli Swilling Android posts.
No offense intended JD. And no, we have no illusions about the creator's IT skill set or planning when it comes to tech stuff. They have shown incompetence iin this area from Day One. Sigh.
I'm am truly sorry that you were treated so shabbily by these people. That appears to be SOP. I think you will find a warmer welcome here. If you are a student, I would chalk this up as a lesson. I would just be careful about what you say about them, we can sit on the fence and throw stones. You appear to have a contractual relationship with them, please be careful... Remember, Greg is an attorney.
ETA: I agree though with Vanilla, if you have further to add I suggest you start a new thread.

please be careful... Remember, Greg is an attorney. i never cease to be amazed how often this fact comes up in the cove and the official phorum/chat! Greg has practiced law for about one year at this point. He was not admitted to the bar until 2005. Sure, he seems to be smart, but he's not johnnie cochran: "If the glove fits, JSmith must quit!" ETA: I agree though with Vanilla, if you have further to add I suggest you start a new thread. well, i guess that makes sense, if/when JD wants to do so. i'll stop for now.

I lurk here every so often, and after reading this thread I just wanted to say that last week's writing was pretty strong but this week's episodes seem even better.
Granted there were a few REALLY dull weeks, and it's quite at the level of the glory days, but it's promising! Especially since it was very clear that the writing was being skimped on, and without that you got nothing! Even the OpAphid stuff has had some nice easy to understand overlap.
I think that the situation might be improving behind the scenes. Though who knows this vague vision of interaction will ever see the light of day!
