awesome that you're here, OIC! even when the series sucks (and when they were first on the road, i was zombified by that) i just like hanging out for the commentary. yepper. I think I remember reading this elsewhere, but the behind-the-scenes drama and video commentary have a way of being more interesting than the show itself. its like required reading to stay a part of the club. oh, that reminded me, I read your blog too it's good stuff.

something is seriously wrong with me. I keep watching, even when I should know better (like, 100x over) This ought to be the official Anchor Cove T- Shirt, with (of course) "And P. Monkey Boogies" on the back.

I have watched Miss Rose play a young girl. I have seen the Lolita fully played out and hammered to death, clumsy handling of virgin/tart while normally rational men roll their eyes and do an impression of a cartoon wolf. People bemoan the loss of PSW not because they had ANY merit whatsoever but because the fantasy of Bree and all she stands for is in full swing during those episodes. I have seen some writers create a character they think should exist. Virgin damsel in distress waiting for some nerd to save her. That was childish, it makes my teeth grind. I recall the old forum and how with another female we said Bree could not be real as no girl of that age would act so knowingly and cleverly flirtatious to the male audience.
So yes, I am fully enjoying that stereotypical character being thrown into situations. It feels a bit more grown up now, for once I am not expecting to see her in white knee high socks with pigtails and a sailor outfit.
I hope this clarifies how I feel about Bree. Her character was quirky, cute, charming to girls of her own 'age', and utterly transparent.

It was awful on just about every level. Plot inconsistencies, horrible sound editing, triteness, cheesy voice acting, just the whole horrid thing. It was not scary, just kinda sad In what way is this adult? The exploitation tack this seems to be hinging off, the campy voiceover, the childish description text. I cannot even begin to voice the level of my distaste. I do love mature stories. Horror scores high on my chart as well. But frankly, this is just camp, garage exploitation. Horror should be preceeded by dread for a nice tension arc. This comes out of nowhere, and likely will go nowhere. something is serously wrong with me. I keep watching, even when I should know better (like, 100x over) I'm not bothered by the aesthetics of the video, or anything like that, I can suspend disbelief about why the order would even make this video at all (seriously, wouldn't they make a very straightforward video, rather than all this hoopla?) It's just this damn plot. I cannot wrap my head around why the order first follows bree like an orphaned puppy, then they out of the blue start kidnapping and torturing? I agree 100% with all three of you guys. You took the words right outta my mouth! To state the obvious about the voice over/ editing, I agree that it was entirely way too cheesy. I honestly cringed when it first started playing and I half expected the voice to say, "Jonas.... .... I am your father." Argh!!! Nooooooo..... this series has so much potential - budget or no budget - why do they always take the clichéd, cheesy, totally unbelievable road? As for the plot; there are so many holes I don't even want to start. I do agree with Terry to an extent that I do enjoy the more adult twist - meaning the more grown up storyline, and I hope they continue with it. But the way it was conveyed could have been dramatically improved. The way it was conveyed was not adult at all. Well, the scenes in the bath tub were pretty interesting. They were okay, but the rest was just pretty embarrassing. I'm telling you I literally cringed, turned the sound down and shut the door so my boyfriend wouldn't come in and tease me! Fingers crossed the next one is better....

First off, I have to say that within the first 10 seconds of the video, I too was thinking, 'wow - human pet'. The voice was really cheesy, like painfully cheesy. *Maybe* they could have pulled it off if the voice actor had practiced more... but there were certain inflections in his voice and the way he said some words that made it quite obvious to me that he wasn't scary at all. I have to agree with the forum poster that milo quoted - it reminded me of the Wizard of Oz too, except the wizard pulled off being scary a lot better.
Maybe I'm just dumb, but I didn't quite understand the bathroom scenes with DB and Jonas. I'm assuming that their captor dumped them back off in their hotel room after the 'psychological torture'? And then placed a camera in the room? And took Bree with him? It will be interesting to see where it goes from here - if Tachyon can't bust in and save the day, how will they get Bree out of this one?
And the title... it didn't quite seem like psychological torture to me. More like a drugged attempt at brainwashing. This video pretty much canceled the previous notion that Bree has to do the ceremony of her own free will. I do hope she does the ceremony, and the Order posts a video of it - because at least finding out what happens in the ceremony would provide viewers with some satisfaction. I doubt this will happen, but I can hope.

A major problem is that they never made clear the awful effects doing the ceremony will have on a person. Will doing the ceremony cement Bree as a permanent and loyal member of the Order, never to return to her normal self? Or is it something that she has to do, doesn't want to because it's wrong and creepy (and killed her dad), but ultimately has no real change on who she is as a person or future obligations to the Order.

I can't help but say this because the more I watch, the more frustrated I'm getting with this series.
I don't understand why they just can't get someone else to do the bloody ceremony. I agree with Hyemew; does Bree even know what is involved in the ceremony? Or better still, do the creators even know what's involved in the ceremnoy? And I am sick of the word ceremony!!!
I was just thinking about that camp that Bree went on. There were other kids there and she said she had been to the camp heaps of times before. What's wrong with using one of those kids for the "thing that starts with 'c'"? Surely they have purity bonds and whatever the crap else you need to do this "you know what" that has obviously not been thought out at all - thus why we are being continuously strung along.
What if Bree suddenly had an aneurysm or something? Would the whole Order just cry themselves to sleep every night - not for the loss of Bree as a person - but because they had no back up plan for the freakin' "thing that rhymes with pheromone-y"?! Would the Order just disappear then, because it seems like they can't function without Bree - and as far as we know, she hasn't even done anything all that special or helpful for the Order yet (as she hasn't completed "the formal activities conducted on some solemn or important public or state occasion" yet).
As for those other kids at the camp - I want to see some of them brought into the series. I think it would be interesting, so that we can get some insight into the Order from other Bree-like characters. I want to see what Bree has that they don't have, and I want the series to have more of a character-driven plot again.

We're so past the age of Order camp though that they probably don't even remember about that. I think it is important to remember (since I so often don't) that the show had one trajectory and aim pre-reveal, and when we revealed them they weren't ready. We screwed up their plans on how THEY wanted it to go and so then suddenly they basically had to make up their own story out of nowhere, and of course did not do so very well at all. The original show was never going to show a ceremony and probably never thought about what it might entail, all they had to do was make references to it. I think it was a mistake to continue to pursue it so much, at least not without actually laying out serious reasons for why she is needed to do it. It was never laid out by them as something only she could do, and even if that is indeed the case we still don't know so speculation is useless. I too wish she'd just do it and get it over with because I'm so sick of it. Meanwhile phorumites are saying "this looks like a job for Tachyon- I hope she flies on in and kicks some ass!" How juvenile in my opinion. Is that really what will satisfy them? Tachyon busting onto the scene for the second time in two months, swooping in to save the day? It's just so incredibly lame. So then after that they will go on the run again and visit Disney World and get captured by Orderites dressed like Mickey and Minnie and get drugged and get rescued and... And there will still be fans who will love every minute of the redundancy.
However since Glenngate is unresolved I doubt they can even refer to his characters until that is sorted out so I doubt Tachyon can save Bree now!

Yeah, I know you're right about pre-reveal and post-reveal LG, and that they have had to change the way they wanted it to go. I just think that when you are writing a story, you can't just conveniently forget things that happened early on. I know soaps do it, but I would like to see LG amount to more than a soap. I know they don't want to lose out on popularity, but I would rather wait longer for a quality video than have all these inconsistencies. It might be worth trying since they do already have a very devoted fan base, who won't just leave overnight. Interesting point about Tachyon though. Since Glenngate, none of her vids are listed in LGPedia (as far as I can see), so they might be working out another way to get Bree out of danger. If so, I do hope they explain, in-plot, why Tachyon isn't in there anymore. Oh, and your Disney land comment cracked me up, Hyemew! Haha!

However since Glenngate is unresolved I doubt they can even refer to his characters until that is sorted out so I doubt Tachyon can save Bree now! oohh, you are probably right about that. tachyon may be substituted for some previously-unknown anti-order faction, i bet. because i don't see how they are going to get out of this without outside intervention, unless the order lets them go thinking they are all brainwashed. Interesting point about Tachyon though. Since Glenngate, none of her vids are listed in LGPedia (as far as I can see) i think they are still there. www.lonelygirl15.com/lgpedia/index.php?title=Tachyoni don't know if they shifted them around though.
