What I don't understand is how she's single-handedly holding Jonas. I mean sure maybe Daniel lured him into a bro-down and somehow tied him up or something, but it's almost weird the way Bree announced she's holding him hostage, taking all the credit for it like somehow she did something. I know Jonas is wussy but still...

Also did anyone notice Bree... well not coming off as Bree in this one? I guess it has to do with the attitude, but even something about the way her hair is kind of screamed "Jessica" at me instead of Bree. While totally unintended, I guess it emphasizes how the old Bree is dead (though that was two months ago now) and this is a new Bree-- though forgive me for being a little disconcerted at that!

I am not such a smart monkey but it appears as though the "jig is up" with Joan OR this is their way of sending a false message to the Orderites via the Who Sees What debacle. The phorumites think that the Watcher symbol she found is different than the "other" symbol and that he or is parents are "good guys" with no evil intentions

Hell, I don't know what all this means... And I like that for once!

well, i am sure we going to find out that jonas' parents had some run in with the order in the past. his parents backstory is just too odd to be be meaningless.

but i don't think jonas is evil. makes no sense.

It's funny how Bree's conclusions, which she just jumped to, are about the same exact criticisms of his story WE made 4 months when we first met him.
Sure, this holding him hostage could be a decoy, but personally I have more than a little decoy fatigue in this plot. Just for once I'd like what they say is going on actually what is going on. I also find it weird that Bree would just find this little popsicle stick eye lying around the cabin and yet nothing in Jonas's house or anything for so long. I guess he got a chance to clear that place out... but I don't know what the heck is that little do-dad for anyway? This does seem like a ploy of some sort. Things are unpredictable as always. I mean I have always hated plot twists you could see a mile away, but as milo said- from snow angels to snow balls in 60 seconds? LG plot changes are always so abrupt and out of nowhere that it defeats the purpose of ever trying to predict anything because you know how futile it is and how there's always a 50% chance Bree&Co. are just trying to trick everyone, so I think that gets almost as if not more annoying than if it was predictable.

Symbol's different. It's the eye thingy combined with a different thingy. A two line thingy, instead of a three line thingy. That must mean "good watcher".

Or...maybe those kinda watchers don't need sunglasses.

Yeah, the symbol is different. It only has two lines coming off the eye instead of three. There is a similar symbol in the images that were in the encrypted rar file. This is why you shouldn’t send people just pieces of information and be all cryptic about it. Daniel is off waterboarding Jonas right now because Tachyon was too lazy to add the footnote that that symbol means Jonas is a gaylien and not a watcher.

This seemed like a really drastic change in character for Bree. I think it might have worked better if they had included footage of Bree discovering the symbol, like if she had decided to do a decent ‘cribs’ video about the cabin and had come across it or something, it just seemed to come out of no where for me. Overall, it was pretty good video. At least they took the time to actually light it properly.

What really frustrates me is that they put music under the dialog of a very important video. Grrrrr, I really wish they would simply toss up an mp3 of the dialog on its own for people like me. Seriously, it would take like 30 seconds to render the video a second time but with the music track muted. I have tried and it distorts the audio way too much if I try to strip the music away.

This isn't a sarcastic question, I'm not trying to critise, it's just something I would like to know. Do they still leave some threads of the plot untied. I struggle to think of an example as October was a long time ago but hopefully you guys can vaguley remember the sort of thing I mean.

That's always a subject of, uhm, much debate and has recently come to light. It address just one LITTLE part of your question. Kind of.

I don't think that the Cove is Canon though... unless we are all Breally all part of the Order !

wixy, believe it or not, any loose threads that were around in October are still loose, plus a bunch of new threads. And yes, only the official site exists in the Breeniverse now, and only parts of it at that.

The "that dumb girl died" line seemed like the creators talking again. Bree started out as a smart girl and they had to dumb her down purely to satisfy an unbelievable plot. Now that they are bringing in the conceit of the "private" video (assuming they go forward with that) the characters can start acting smarter because they won't have to reveal everything in public.

As stantheman very insightfully noted, the show seems to be guided by trial balloons more than a semi-improvised plan.
This episode is the latest trial balloon. It feels like they asked, "What if Jonas is with the Order?" and said "I don't know, let's say he is and see what reaction we get."
I think that's as far as they think it out.

Welps! This is where they flushed the series down the big ol' crapper in my opinion!

If they continue with this 'Jonas is a watcher' thing, then... pft. It's freaking ridiculous.

Then again.... it WAS predictable. C'mon now, LG15 is one big giant sci-fi soap opera hybrid. Surely someone had to see it coming. Granted I did, I was just hoping that I was wrong. Apparently not. Unless Bree is supposed to know absolutely NOTHING about her religion/cult thing to realize the symbol is off. Can she really be that blind?

And why does the 'Op Pez' look like a cardboard box with a piece of paper glued to it? What good does THAT do? What's Jonas gonna do to them? Shoot 'em with it's built-in laser beam??

Since this series no longer bears any resemblance to the fun and innocence of its early days (which drew so many of us regular people in) and has been replaced by a convoluted tangle of unpredictable wild cards and unfathomable unfoldings from all directions (which successfully draws in ARG-types and puzzle aficionados), this "How Dumb" video is indeed an obituary and a birth notice in one. The original la-di-da Bree has left the building. The new-and-improved, now-I-mean-business, tachyon-compatible Bree has made her grand entrance.
