OK I knew there was going to be conflict stemming from the last video, but this is a little faster and more vociferous than expected.
Also funny how Daniel says he has "more important things to do". Let's see, you are living in the house of the guy you are attacking, eating his food (where do they get food from anyway?), using everything on his dime.
You have no job, are away from home, no school... in fact Daniel, you DON'T have anything better to do.
Haha how Tachyon has left a haiku, since I love the one in Terry's signature.

He hasn't told Bree and Jonas he found the package? Well they're going to know now, alluding to a secret was useless because it won't be one any longer...
Allusion to where the videos all started? That IS intriguing. Sadly we know for more reasons than one there's no going back to Bree's bedroom... but I'll still keep my hopes up we get to go inside Bree's room at least one more time. I miss it so much.
(haha Nancy Drew's hometown). This is an insane coming together of plots- and stop telling us Nikki is mere fanfiction...

Daniel is without a doubt my favourite character in this series right now. His calling Jonas a dick gave me a good laugh and his pointing out the ridiculous nature of the ARG, and how if the characters in it want to share information why do they turn everything into a riddle or arbitrarily encode it, was great too.
Although why Daniel continues to harp on the cell phone issue is strange. OpAphid only narrowed them down to a giant triangular shaped area in California using their cell phone signals (hell IP tracing them posting their videos would have been more precise) and it was the finding of Daniel’s ID that allowed OpAphid to find them. I know this because I have seen the OpAphid videos, it use to make sense that DB would be confused about these issues as he hadn’t seen them, but that all changed a couple weeks back. Either the audience sees stuff that the LG characters don’t and it makes sense for us to know more than them, or the LG characters see everything the audience does and thus should know everything we know. The shows constant flip-flopping on this issue is worse than politics.

Recall the one Tachyon video in which it showed a face which some people through to be Nikki?
Remember how Nikki (and as an extension the Creators?) insisted Nikki is fanfiction?
Nikki Bower IS Tachyon?
(Though one would have to wonder where an aspiring reporter would get her own plane from...)

Bree doesn't like Daniel 'like that'. Give Jonas a break! I can't believe I just wrote that. The last video was great if we ignore all the bizzaro world stuff with the Order. Perhaps now this is what we'll get, one that's crazy conspiracy theory and then one that's life and human interaction and so on and so on and...

If they made parts of the website 'in character' so that Daniel, Bree and Jonas all had public and private video sections then they could easily side step the idea but having Daniel post this as a private video so only the audience can see it. You can always have drama later when Bree or someone happens upon Daniel's private videos when he forgets to logout.
All of this would be lost on the YouTube crowd, but they seem to only be interesting in catering to the smallest subset of their audience anyways (i.e. the ARGers.) A little off topic but, I cannot fathom why after 5 months they still have not added any exclusive or compelling content to their website when their business plan requires their viewers to watch the show there. Behind the scenes footage, bloopers, a production blog (or podcast as Lost has), a character blog (a written one to tell small side stories or reveal interesting, but not relevant to the plot, pieces of the characters history), or even little LG15 themed flash games, the possibilities are countless. They seem to expect people to migrate from YouTube to their site just out of the promise that there will be a reason to do so someday in the distant future.

You can always have drama later when Bree or someone happens upon Daniel's private videos when he forgets to logout. after so many months of this, i think its possible, but not practical, to use the website to clear this hurdle. i think the concept of having to go see private videos (like the idea of the confessional from reality shows) is inventive, but would require too much effort from the audience to maintain that audience, the majority of which still resides at youtube. the creators seem to have gone the opposite way, really, having announced that all the vlogs are going to show up on the lonelygirl15 channel at youtube now. i categorized the "snow angels" video as a bree video based on the descriptive text (before we collapsed the vlog forums here), though the lgpedia put it under jonas which is probably much more logical. well, its still a not a good plan, then !!! good thoughts. i think the main tactic used to try to pull people to the official site was delaying the release of videos to youtube, though lately that seems to have been abandoned. as to what the real business plan is, i can't tell. i think the original hope was that the audience would mostly move to revver and the revvernue would be pretty good -- i don't think those hopes panned out, and i don't blame them because they were flying by the seat of their pants in early september. however, now youtube is holding out the promise of revenue sharing. if we added up all the video views of all lg15 videos at youtube (including daniel, gemma, and jonas), i bet the lg15 crew has more video views than any other content creator -- thus they are poised to be the most compensated entity at youtube when revenue sharing debuts (whenever that may be). ok, i'm hugely off topic now. jonas sucks!!!! |

OK, here we go again. I suggested several ways to delineate "Who Sees What...". A couple: icons accompanying each vid with a clear signal as to who is able to see what; separate web pages (Terry's in/out character idea) that always maintain a consistent POV, etc.
The response from Miles was that they (paraphrasing) thought about this obsessively. Uhhhm. NOT! I just despise all of this, it is just so distracting. The ARG folks take may rants about this topic to being anti-ARG. NOT! It has to do with the narrative and the illusion of "vlog reality" making sense and nothing to do with their puzzles or the mere existence of such... I would think that if your were playing a "game" with all of this you would at least want to have a consistent set of "rules" to play the game with. As is, I can't see how this makes any sense.
It's the inconsistency and logic fallacies that just drive me (pardon the expression) bananas.
GRRRRRR.
