Remember how Virginia Heffernan used to talk about LG15 in terms of being sweet, weird, and/or a fraud? I think sweet just left the building. FLWright  <edit>PS Snark alert- Missed opportunity to present this as a "dream", they make it pretty clear at the start that this is an Op Aphid video. Come to think of it, how do you present a dream in vlog format? Public Service Announcement-I was able to get the homepage of Lonelyworld to upload and the video was on it. Access is spotty as of 3.30pm Sunday. I can see the Cove getting a lot more guest traffic. Video Summary: A drugged Daniel stands before a white background and preaches the wonders of the Order. They're feeding him pizza and letting him play with "spin wheel" paints, among other things. He urges Bree to come back to the Order, go through with the Ceremony and hopes he can become part of the Order himself. He says Cassie agrees and he says Bree's Dad planned to be killed. (corrections appreciated). |

Along with this video, all of the other OpAphid stuff is being uploaded to the official site. There are no urls yet, but if you dig around they can be found. This is without question the death of the idea that OpAphid functions as supplemental material. Before it worked as Bree and gang weren't watching OA you could follow along with them if you didn't watch it either. Now they are really forcing it down people’s throats. I have always found OpAphid over stylized, melodramatic, and generally pretty lame. They look like video game intros and are as far detached from reality as possible. Sadly I feel they will pull LG in that direction and further away from what I always found the most interesting - the mock vlog premise.
Not to be over dramatic myself, but I think this was likely my last episode. After coming across Brotherhood 2.0 I think it will replace LG as my online show of choice. I suppose that means my recap project is dead, oh well I got to up the point in the series where I thought it started to go downhill, perhaps it is appropriate that I stop there.

The thing I liked about this video is that I've been waiting for a "fug you, Bree" from daniel for a while. Brainwashed or not, it was a relief to finally hear it.
sidenote "What up? It's me, danny b." Doesn't Nikki Bower always say "It's me, Nikki b." in her videos?

Still not on YT on ANY of the accounts. Even more "old" ARG vids are being uploaded to the mothership. I wonder if the servers can handle all of this...
Update:
The phorum is at a crawl and pretty much completely unusable. What about all these new upgrades they did?

Sorry, all ARG bitching aside, I get the impression that the powers behind the ARG are more into big story telling and mythology than the creators, or at least they seem responsible for more and more of these payoffs lately.

OpAphid= scrappy doo.
They have daniel brainwashed on spooky island. That's why there's all the movie references, we're supposed to follow that convoluted series of clues to SD3, coming to a theater near us. Bree and Jonas either will call mystery Inc, or Jonas is supposed to be Fred (he always was responsible for nickname giving), Bree= daphne (only cuz she's pretty), nikki b is velma (someone has to be) and daniel is scooby/shaggy all in one.

Miles made a post about OpAphid and upcoming changes to the site. It looks like they have abandoned every aspect of the idea that this show is not a show. It won't be long before they have a third person camera, and just give up on the rule 'someone always has to be holding the camera'. Anyone wanna take a guess on how long these 'site improvements' will take? another 6 months? and from the sounds of it the rumors I was hearing about all they are adding is the ability for everyone to have a 'videos' page similar to the LG homepage (or YouTube profiles) are true and that is amazingly underwhelming. Miles said flat out to me that they had really innovated ideas for the website. I'm now having a really hard time believing that wasn't a lie. |

I hate how they did this, it was so abrupt and without any sense of reason or rationality. This was my pet peeve and they just pulled it out of their butt without any setup at all to try and address this.  If they don't make this viewing ability reciprocal (Bree and Jonas state on camera that every vid they have ever posted, and every one from now on out, can be viewed by the Order) I will really go ballistic over there.
