Wow. THIS is the power of the vlog format. She nailed it. Simply outstanding offering. As for the plot twist...
Listen to the short statement at around 3:08 or so about rubbing reality in her (their) face.

I tell ya, I'm really rooting for the alien angle. I think it would be brilliant for the series to start out as innocent and realistic as it did and slowly lead to an all out sci-fi adventure. Considering the other options, it would be the most entertaining to me. I agree they (and especially Jess) did a great job with this video. It's proof that they have got the vlog-style down to a science when they want to use it. But, to prove their science wrong (har har), even when they nail it, I'm still frustrated by only getting one little piece of information every, like, month. It's just waaaay toooo sttrrreeeeeetcchhhhhheeddddd oooooouuuuuuuuuuttttttt. Taken individually, it was a good video. Really, I think almost all the videos taken individually are done quite well. "Bree's Dad is Dead" was a perfectly well done video, it was just the context within the arc of the show that made it unintentionally hilarious to me.

I found how they wrote out Bree's Mom a little clumsy, since I assume it is largely to do with not wanting to have to deal with more actors, but overall I really like the vid. Do you think it would work if you added vlog style bookends around the more action based episodes (like What Did Dad and Daniel Talk About) I think it would help make them flow better.
My bet is she and Daniel are really brother and sister. They were separated to prevent their father, who has gone over to the dark side of the Order, from finding them.

Wow! Great vid. Great great job by Jess. Some big revelations here, eh? It sounds like she's pissed at Breemom though. What's that about? Bree's adopted? Alien? Test tube baby? I wonder if she has a belly button. Someone find me a screencap! Ahhh! Back to work!

ME? I am impressed! Genuienly happy with this vid. It really breathes new life into things. CG you are absolutely right about the VLOG style and Terry I agree with you as well about bookending action vids with vlogs or vise versa. Speaking of Bookends - I saw a reference to Daniael and Joan-us as "Bree and her boookends" in the phorum - cracked me up like a egg Cool...there is joy in SLainte-land just asa the clouds of discontent and "dissent" were thickening. BTW: I do not see aliens but definately see Bree cracking up and Cassie making an appearance if you know what I mean. The Bree/Daniel sibling idea would be kind of a StarWars rip-off but it would free Bree and Jonus to snuggle up (ICK!) as we say in southern Irland: Cheers Y'all

This one had "MESH" stamped all over it. The phorumites are crazy with plot theories, but I find this probably the one of the best dramatically written and delivered vids of the series, comparable to "My Lazy Eye...".
Who cares about the wacky plot at this point, THIS is the reason I thought this was worth my time in the first place.

Some excellent acting there from Jessica.
One quick question though?
Where did this talk of aliens come from?

<snip> Where did this talk of aliens come from? Yeah...I dunno. I thought maybe it was some theory I had missed. I'm not thinking alien here, but there's definitely some sci in this fi. I think Breeparents were chosen to raise her because Breemom was respected within "the community" and Breedad is a doctor. They were there to raise Bree and groom her all her life for some important purpose for the order, and she was in the final stages of preparations when everything went sideways. Her parents may or may not have known the end goal. Maybe mom did and dad didn't? So, now along with all the other mysteries and questions we can add: Who is Bree? and Where did she come from?Bree is coming to terms with these same questions...portrayed brilliantly in the video by Jess and the writers. Bravo.

I must be the only one who was highly unimpressed by this video. Her dad (well, the man she knew as her father) only died two days ago and the most we get are bloodshot eyes? And she looks completely put together. I know everyone handles things differently and everyone copes differently, but having watched the videos for a long time and have a feel for how Bree's personality is, I would have expected some really truly choked up moments and a bit of crying. I mean, c'mon, at least a tear!
I don't think I could look that put together and calm if my dad had been shot only two days ago and on top of that, witnessing it. She seems to have a way better relationship with her dad than I do and I know I wouldn't look that calm and collected about it. I'd be really upset, angry, crying, etc. I just think this was one of the videos where the effort of emotion was a bit forced and didn't flow naturally from her like we've seen in the past.
It would be different if she was talking about her dad when he hadn't just died. Maybe if she were talking about him like they just wouldn't be seeing each other again for awhile. For the information she received, her composure was perfect. But for getting that information and then having her dad die, it just seems a bit too little.
Unless of course, this is part of the plan and she knows he isn't dead and that's why she's not as broken up over it as one might expect. Maybe they hope the Order sees the vlogs and stops hunting for her dad and whatnot so that he can do what he needs to in peace. And with any luck, it was actually Gemma who was shot.
But I guess one can't get that lucky.
(Note: I don't mean the person behind Gemma, but just the character. I've thought it was a horrid mistake from the beginning and the only way the creators will reprieve themselves if is Gemma went down in gunpowdery glory. Thought I should add this in so no one misconstrus my words and I wake up to cops in my room. XD)

The aliens thing is a joke at this point. Maybe. A summary of wild phorum theories: Bree was abducted as a baby. Bree was adopted as a baby. Jonas and Bree are brother and sister. Bree and Daniel are brother and sister. Bree's "Mom" is the matriarchal head of the Order. My favorite though is that Twjaniak is the Grand Poobah of the Order and is secretly controlling the Breeniverse. Maybe even the creators are a fictional creation of his and the whole phorum is part of his evil plot. Well, that was my contribution. The fun never ends. On a somewhat more serious note, I am firmly in the Bree's notDad is "notShotnotDead" camp at this point. Why? I have no earthly rationale for this other than I think it is so. The tag "Hamster" has made a return, one of many instances, on the YT video. Best theory is that Bree is a very valuable lab-rat. There is definitely something about either her actual blood or her bloodline. I dunno. Hang on, even it starts to make sense I am sure we will veer off in a completely new direction. Still no sign of P. Monkey Last thing: I completely agree Imparfaite. Gemma simply must die, with the best SFX the laptop and the $130 web cam can muster.

Where did this talk of aliens come from? it is a joke. there was a poster awhile ago, i think at the phorum, that came up with a plot theory that involved aliens being a major part of the plot. of course there was no proof of it, except "why not aliens?" again we seem to be learning there are huge parts of bree's life we know nothing about, which reminded me of the aliens theory. if i can find that thread, i'll edit this post later to put up the link. sorry if i led people astray! EDIT: here's the thread: lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2947&highlight=aliens

I think Milo's post bring to light the bizzaro juxtaposition of the incredibly human writing and acting shown so brilliantly in this vid with the obviously, uhm, rather disorienting plot. The creators have always done characterization very well and this is in such stark contrast to all the wild and crazy stuff that goes on in the storyline. Even Yosef's DB is a subtle, but entirely effective portrayal of the everyDude. Still my fave in all of this.
Exceptions: Gemma was awful on all points but at least has been reincarnated as an evil goon. Doubtful if that was her original intent of her character. Jonas will prove his mettle here real soon. I am giving his character the benefit of the doubt at this point, I think the actor may be better than the scripts he has been given. We'll see.
Consistent quality is always the hallmark of a successful product. It is obvious they can still be stellar, such as in this vid, at times and I hope for the best.

I agree with Imparfaite, I was very unimpressed. She didn't seem choked up enough to have just seen a shooting, even if her dad is secretly alive somewhere. As for the theory that she is the sister of Jonas and Daniel, I think that makes a little sense. I've been watching this as a 17 year old girl and wondering how they can have us believe there'd be NOTHING in terms of romance, besides the cheesy "daniel kissed me, teehee". I can't imagine being in a mansion with no parents with two boys and never having any interest. Especially at times like these, I can imagine reaching out to one, or both. I'd hate to be alone, or left alone as she says. Even if she doesn't have interest in one, I don't know. Most 17 year old girls, no matter how conservatively they were raised, would be flirty or something! I don't know. Oddly unrealistic. And maybe they're avoiding it so no one hooks up and then we find out they're siblings we don't all go EW. hold up, remember 10 episodes when Bree got it on with Jonas in the study? INCEST.
