1. Bree is not a christian. 2. Bree is cagey about her beliefs. 3. Bree has gone to a religious "camp" (but it may be camp=congregation or camp=event) 4. Many have speculated that she has a Crowley picture in her room. 5. Bree is deeply inspired by her faith. 6. Bree and her parents believe in evolution.

7. She has an important religious ceremony coming up in her life, which she is very honored to be chosen for, needs to diet and memorize a lot of text, and even her parents can't attend.

You beat me to it also: 8. October 12 is alluded to in the cookie post (score: 10-12-06) which is Crowley's birthday. 9. The "shrine" is a fake shrine at best. 10. The 15 in the lonelygirl15 handle is the tarot number of the devil. 11. Daniel's nick is DanielBeast, also a Satanic reference 12. She has some videos called "disproving science", science being the bane of some religions.

Is "beast of burden" satanic? In addition, the science videos seem, to me, to be a mockery of others trying to "disprove" science.
Seriously, if she can't ride Daniel into battle then science is disproved?

PM: She stated it in one of her comments in responding to someone asking about it on one of her videos.
If that made sense...
She said "we R not Christian."

She has said over and over that she's not Christian. Alissa, can we make an FAQ for New Users that's tagged something like "If you are new to the forum, read this first!"

Hey new board looks great! Hopefully focus on more real sleuthing
OK so...my question for some time has been Are we sure her "religion is Crowley's Thelema>? if not, EXACTLY WHAT RELIGION IS IT? Bree has repeatedly identified herself with a specific non-Christian evolutionist religious "group" that seems to have specific parallels to A leister Crowley's Thelema or a similar offshoot. If Bree is relgious and Crowley's photo is prominently displayed then the "religion" she keeps referring to MUST be Thelema right?
To be sure.. Just wondering if ronanbop or others with familiarity could comment on:
A ceremony that takes place infrequently, that involves choosing a 16 year old girl who has kept a "purity bond," who then must prepare for a secret ceremony by memorizing things, dieting (Why? Bree is not exactly overweight), and exercising.....and the ceremony is so UNusual that her PARENTS are not even allowed.
Unless Bree's "religion" is a small, new as yet unheard-of sect....investigation should be able to discover EXACTLY what religion it IS:
1) Can any Thelemites recognize this list of things as a known ceremony in Thelema..... or not? 2) If not Thelema, is there another specific religious tradition that can be linked to such a distinct sequence of requirements?
(The answer to these questions is important because it's becoming clear that the religious angle has been where this has been headed for some time --- if so, it MUST be a primary clue-- If we can answer these questions with any degree of certainty, we would then be able to see more clearly WHERE to look for further clues to actually solve Bree's motive and identity)
Thoughts?

She said she has to learn "exercises" not that she has to exercise. Big difference.
Dieting does not necessarily mean losing weight, but could involve eating, or not eating certain foods.
We do not know that her "purity bond" has any connection to the ceremony.

ok jh so her "exercises" may be mental or physical or BOTH her "dieting" may be to get to a certain weight or become more healthy pure or ALL Bree HAS stated that her "purity bond" IS part of her "beliefs"....but may or may not be part of the ceremony
After all this time....I'm just tryin to nail down 1) Does anyone recognize this ceremony in the context of Thelema ? 2) If not Thelema, does anyone recognize this religion?
Have an opinion on these? Reasons....?

Lee,
No one has nailed down connections that are irrefutably strong, and people with strong ties to Thelemic communities (including Tempestarii) have repeatedly posted saying that this doesn't look like anything they're familiar with. That said, there is also a pretty broad and diverse set of practices in these religious organizations, which tend to be small and not terribly hierarchical.
Personally, and this is just one guy's opinion, it looks like they're borrowing elements from a sort of generalizaed occultism, which is why a lot of the details don't match up to our expectations.
But the answer to your question is, "Not to my satisfaction, and if you can come up with some concrete relationship to a known religious community, I'll be grateful."

Hey John, Yea thanks.....that does help.....with all the discussion, I just wasn't sure if Thelema or a certain off shoot had been ruled in or out yet...seems similar in many ways...but as you say with allot of additions that may just be random...if that's the case then the religion angle might not to lead to anything we can put our finger on.....do you think this religious direction being so prominent is still worth pursuit..? If so how..?
On the other hand, her set of "beliefs" seemed to have enough specific preparations, required steps and rule-sounding elements that you would expect SOMEone to be at least loosely familiar with them-- to come forward to say, "yes, it sounds like the she has been selected for the honor of Annual Purification Queen of the traditional Thelemic Fall Harvest Festival " OR "Yep it's just your garden variety mental and physical purification rituals prior to the new joint NBC/YouTube Fall Sweeps viewer recruiting promotion simulcasting a pagan virgin human sacrifice" jk OR what the heck is it?!
