"Starting next week though. Not today"
Yeah, but there's books to buy, parking permits, promises to make....

And don't forget new student orientation, that's always a week or so before classes start.

Okay, that's all well and good. But what are the odds that he is starting/has started only days after returning home? Firstly, he's in mourning. I know that when I've lost people who are close to me in the past I don't become fully functional - like enrolling in college functional - for a while, especially if no one is pressuring or encouraging me. And I'm assuming that if you were as involved/Dependant on someone else as Daniel was with Bree, it might take longer than a few days to get into gear. *shrug* I guess this can be explained away with the whole "everyone is different" line. But the other thing is, I know here that enrollments to start a new course are often months before the semester starts. If you just rocked up a few days before classes start, hoping to enroll, you would have an awful lot of trouble getting in and most classes would be full. As for the football team... well we don't have one, so umm yeah... but IF we did, I'm sure it would be harder to get into than it seems in this video. Daniel hasn't even trained for a year... what are the odds? BUT ANYWAY.... I enjoyed this episode far more than the others. Though I do agree with Terry - the stuff at the end seemed so tacked on. I hate all these self-referential titles, but despite that and the college inconsistencies, I think this is one of the best episodes for a while.

I hate all these self-referential titles, but despite that and the college inconsistencies, I think this is one of the best episodes for a while. On your first point, my freshman year of college I had to deal with my mother's death and only a few weeks into the first semester. I was living on my own in a tiny apartment in Chicago because of a hurricane. I went home for a week (there to see her pass in the hospital and then I waited for the funeral). After a week, I went back to school and just dove right in to school. So it's not necessarily true that Daniel would completely shut down. I was very dependent on my mother, especially with having to deal with the hurricane and moving to entirely new city with very little belongings. (Sorry about being so revealing. I know that's weird.) Your second point, I'm pretty sure Daniel enrolled in a community college or a junior college. Typically, you can enroll in classes fairly close to the date classes begin or even after they have started. I'll admit this was the best episode of season 2, but come on, that's REALLY not saying much. haha.

after reading exilir's and matsie's comments, i guess its kinda hard to compare what an lg15 character would EVER do compared to what real human beings would do. so, we are left to expect that daniel should act like "people are supposed to act" (even if that is rarely what people do in reality in a given situation) because we don't have any other character development to guide us. for example, if we knew that--consistently--daniel always responds to loss by throwing himself into something new, his actions in this video would make sense.
instead, we hear that someone who was sucking wind running with jonas a few months ago is now trying out for a college football team. we are struggling to discern guiding principles that explain daniel's behavior. his whole reason for existing in the breeniverse is now gone.

junior college is my guess. at least that would consistent with old references to daniel thinking about taking some classes at the "JC".
The sequel is never as good as the original, right :-)

Interesting, just noticed that this episode is now a response to LaRezisto... Only heightening the alleged connections between them which has led some to believe Daniel is the head of LaRezisto. I don't think so, but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence. What this latest turn of events means, beyond the fact that DB has found the Resistance's video, remains unknown.

I'll admit this was the best episode of season 2, but come on, that's REALLY not saying much. haha. I'm sorry to hear all that Matsie. My posts aren't always the most well thought-out pieces of writing in the world. In fact, I often post here when I'm incrediby sleep deprived, and pretty much just always in the five seconds after watching the video... hmmm... But yes, I am sorry to hear that all of that happened to you, and if anyone should know about what it's like to still go to uni and do work despite having troubles at home, it's me. So my point about Daniel is fairly redundant in that respect. I guess I was just getting at the way it was written, it just appears that things have been rushed too much. Also, I have no idea of how American colleges work really. So I don't really know what a community college is. I was just assuming college = university. Here a community college is not considered college at all. Its classes are run by the community in, like, latin dancing and stuff, lol... so yeah I have no idea. We shall see, hopefully it is a community college then if that's how they work. Cos if it's not, then that's just kind of not thought out well at all.

instead, we hear that someone who was sucking wind running with jonas a few months ago is now trying out for a college football team. Maybe he's a kicker ;D I kind of thought he was trying to get a rise or at least a response out of his dad by saying the least likely things he could think of. i.e., trying out for the football team was about as likely as that he would go to school in Switzerland.

his whole reason for existing in the breeniverse is now gone. Ahhh, the meat of the issue. Not very complicated, unless you are the writer and have to overcome this massive hurdle. Tough stuff, especially with this crowd.
