lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7410and its' not (really) about glenn. started by hyemew yesterday. this thread is mostly hyemew, vanillaflava, and lurker, with cameos from myself, immortal1 and others, having an in-depth debate of where lg15 has come from and where it is going in the way it tells stories. thought provoking.

VanillaFlava, your contributions have been amazing! You say everything I want to and better!
Lurker just doesn't get it. He so desperately wants Lonelygirl15 to be the Lord of the Rings, and finds no problems with making comparisons between a show about a girl and her vlog with Middle Earth, including going as far as to call Tachyon and her hideouts a modern day Strider. Dude, there was a reason why Tolkien didn't set his story in SoCal (or our modern age), because it'd be totally ridiculous and exactly why LonelyGirl can't turn into LotR (which I am a fan of) like he seems to want.

Psst ... you'll only reveal I have been your sock puppet all along! But yeah, I think I gave Lurker too much Flak on the Strider thing, because he just used it carelessly, but true, what people do not seem to get, that there is a structure, a method any given story is cast out of, and the cast chosen will determine what kind of story you will get. They didn't just chose to expand their story, they are telling a completely different one, in a totally different way. And uhm, I think I watched it before coming home from some club without the energy to switch the channel Your posts have been pretty groovy too hyemew! Prob is we're screaming into the wind

I agree too much here Hye, a fellow fan and I am blessed to have been raised in the areas he lived and wrote of. Tolkien had a firm grasp of mythology and how the landscape made characters. For example in another field Heathcliff was the archetype of the moors where it was written - had to add that as a close family member died and I am driving all the way back up to the moors on Monday- LG15's only basis in myth or culture is...well they tried Crowley on a whim. For someone to even bother ATTEMPTING to link this fiasco with Tolkien proves they have no idea how the man used language to display culture, his extreme genius with assimilating mythos and capturing the feelings of a small nation at war.
Regarding this thread: Someone needs to sate my tired stressed self at 5am and find the phorum chat where it dissolved into a fight with Slainte and you boys about gayliens, then well meaning and pansy posters get involved to try and say everyone is entitled to an opinion.
That thread ROCKED the socks off me. No one seemed to realise you were egging each other on with name calling.
