Oh boy. A check of Alexa has revealed, after quite high ratings (when compared to the past month or two) during the last week and a half or so of January, starting January 31 the site views suddenly suffered a precipitous drop. Since the September spike views have suddenly never been this low, ever. I knew the site seemed a bit lonelier lately. Perhaps those people who were carrying on instant messenger-like conversations in real time via the video comments section finally found a new hobby instead of constant-refresh?

Since Hye was too lazy - link. The drop happened on the 28th. Daniel disappeared on the 27th. Coincidence? I knew Yousef was the one keep that boat afloat. Strangely, if you compare the stats for Revver and LG15 they both take a dive at the same time. Can the Revver be that reliant on LG for traffic?

I think Hye is also correct about the Firrrrsters and Meepers and their refresh rates. They have their own place on the phorum now, it's kinda like a chatroom. Few posts with more than a three sentences.
I poked around in there the other day and they are a pretty "cute" sub-genre of LG Fandom. They have their own Lexicon, merit systems, etc. They appear to be, as a general rule, very nice people with little to no phlaming. My guess is that their lack of constant refreshing (of the main vid page) is indeed taking somewhat of a toll on the main page view stats.
That would account for the Revver view decline, but not for YT views. My guess: clue fatigue is finally starting to catch up with them... Not by the ARG crowd, but by the casual YT viewer. If this is correct, they better get their act together and start telling a more logical and rational story to hold on to these casual viewers.
Terry, I wouldn't ever discount Yousef's role in ANY part of the project's success. Jackson has a lot of phemale phans but Yousef is still playing the EveryDude that holds this cast together. As another aside, I think both of the boyz' acting is getting better with the more experience they are getting on camera.

Weird, I hadn't even noticed that part of the phorum before. So they have two different forum cultures living in the same forum? Who's taking bets on how long until an all out war breaks out.
These fans must be what? The Third Generation fans? The ones who joined after the Is Bree Real sleuthing, and after the CiW crowd, what are they then? the first true LG15 The Series fans. The first ones who never had any ulterior motive for watching the show.

This new section of the forum was developed after much discussion between phorumites and mainpage commenters a few weeks ago about the problem of the main page threads getting so huge (and the constant refresh effect on the server load, whether that was true or not). so the "war" is already over. the lg15 community forum posters are people who don't like multicategory forums, they like to just make long single comment threads like listservs -- that format is more conducive to more laid back fans.

It is mid February and the numbers of LG are still struggling. The Alexa numbers show a pretty bad drop for all of February so far. It looks like there were on the rise for a bit, but have started to fall again. The YouTube numbers haven’t been great either. Looking at the LG account, as it is the figured head account and gives us what the series capable of at its best, we can see they are in a YT slump as well. After averaging 587,621 views with the 7 videos between The Unthinkable Happened and Daniel’s Missing [sic], they have averaged only 272,724 views with the last 7 videos (I didn’t include that newest one as its inaccurately low numbers would have skewed the stats). This is a around a 54% drop in viewers. Also interesting is that Lost, the show that partial inspired LG, is having a ratings plunge itself right now. The AP thinks it might in part be because of “confusing plots and dangling mysteries — who the ominous "Others" are; whether the survivors are part of an elaborate scientific experiment; what is real, imagined, important or trivial.” Gee, that sounds a little bit too familiar.

You know that's pretty amazing. There are a lot of people I know who are downright giddy about lost. I tried to watch 3 minutes and was so perplexed I stopped right there. I can't get into it, it's way too confusing for anyone except those who have been watching all along. I was surprised to hear about the Lost plunge but then again it must be going through the same problems as LG. Personally this is why I'd like to see the Order thread wrapped up, though I really don't know how at this point to bring in viewers. Also, while LG views have been struggling, I still don't really think the other top accounts get views like they used to either. Perhaps it's a youtube slump in general- well at least for it's most well known series (plural)? That said, it's number 5 on the internet to alexa so it's not that bad, though maybe those views are just much more spread out amongst accounts.
