Ok, so I'm not Hispanic. I posted quite a bit over at the other forum..where people who took the time to read my posts likely got a good sense of who I am.
First, the part that couldn't be gathered: born and raised in Charlotte, NC, went to college to study Physics, went to Duke to get my Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Stopped with a Masters [instead of a PhD] to pursue storytelling through photography and film. Currently looking for an engineering job for the sole purpose of more expeditiously funding various creative endeavors. In coming years, I will pursue a PhD in Philosophy to fuel the stories that I tell (call me whatever you want, hehe).
Now, why am I on these boards? I first started watching lonelygirl15 vids in an attempt to understand why she was getting so many views, hence what people found fascinating about them (one could ask that question about LOADS of YouTubers). I got sucked into the controversy when I felt the need to defend her from the haters who were set on using production value (EASILY reproduceable) and story arc (not AT ALL complicated or "Shakesperean," as one denizen puts it) as their only argument.
Now, there is further evidence that "Bree" is not Bree, and I respected the previous forum for its search for truth rather than weak, close-minded conclusions found on her video comments. In playing devil's advocate, it is my role in this discussion to ensure that our bias towards the fabrication doesn't affect our ability to see each shread of evidence in light of reality.
What I am "privy" to is human nature and the fact that a person makes decisions and does things based upon EVERY detail of their life, character, and circumstances. Obviously, there are LOADS of details about "Bree" and Bree that we have neither been told, nor deduced; hence there are real-world explanations (i.e., real-world details) as to why Bree would perform actions x, y, etc., no matter how unlikely they may be.
I do not believe in likelihoods and equating improbabilities with impossibilities; I believe in chance, as I have far too often been inaccurately accused of certain motivations by people after they caught just a snapshot of my life..and were convinced they knew me. No matter how much we learn about "Bree" and/or Bree, whether through self-testimony or outside evidence, we will never know her complete story..and without that, we will never be able to completely understand every motivation (which can fuel growing suspicion).
Believe it or not, I am in search for the truth here. I simply want to challenge existing and upcoming theories, as challenging a collection of theories is a step in determining which are the most sound.
My pick is that Bree and Daniel are talented perfectionist who speak of their lives truthfully, yet plan each video (not all vids in advance) for the sake of making it fun and rather short. In which case, they are not the first YouTubers to preplan their vids, they're simply the first to do it really well in so many people's eyes. I don't think a single person on YouTube has the obligation to place their work under any particular umbrella ( e.g., real, fake, serious, funny, hybrid, etc.)...and they damn sure don't have an obligation to announce what umbrella it falls under; a true artist let's their work speak for itself, and people either get it or they don't.
However, I will do as Bree and form an analogy to a matter of Physics, The Heisenberg Principle: when you measure something, you change it. We've done a LOT of measuring, folks; all of our paranoia and hoopla may've psychologically turned two real teenagers into the very "hoax" that we were so convinced existed to begin with..and any present and future evidence that presents itself must be viewed in a much wider spectrum of light.
