I am a deal guy in media and entertainment projects. It is my job to analyze new projects and recommend for or against funding. If we move on a project I typically negotiate terms. I have an MBA. I am not a lawyer, but I work with them a lot. I take pitches every day, and I know many others that do the same. My usefulness to the study is primarily as an entertainment industry insider. The only fact I can definitively bring to the table is that this project is not currently being actively pitched to anyone I know.
My theory on the LG15 board on Aug 23rd was stated as follows:
“I have become convinced that this can neither be a full scale production nor an unscripted real life drama. Many points have shown the latter, but as to the former wouldn’t it have leaked by now if it was some tv show or promotion? Non-Disclosures won't keep this quite.”
OTBE, this is still what I believe. To this I would add newer theories involving MySpace and YouTube as suspect for the same reason.
I got in to a bit of trouble early in the board by implying I had inside knowledge. I do not. HyeMew called me out for playing the silly "I know something but I can't say," game. I apologized for it then, and I regret it now.
For professional reasons, I need to keep my personal identity private but I am available to PM.
I am interested in the LG15 phenomenon because I think it is cool what the responsible parties have been able to pull off. I am also interested in the sociology of user generated content combined with social networking as a new type of creative process.
