Episode 31: Sleeping With DanicaI can't find it on their videos list yet, so I linked to the main PQ page because it's already playing there. Recap: Danica and Nolan are in detention. Danica keeps falling asleep and Nolan starts trying to sell her some drugs to stay awake. She says she doesn't need help staying awake, rather, she can't sleep. He texts her and says "I can help you sleep 2". Danica looks out the window and sees Lauren flirting with Josh. Thoughts: Danica can't be too happy that Lauren was trying to get friendly with Josh after she said that Josh was a psycho freak and to stay away from him. Now Danica knows the real reason Lauren wanted her to back off. I don't know whether Nolan can sell Danica any sleep meds, but it'd be so illogical for her to buy them from him. In Ep6, she flushed away what seemed to be legitimate prescription pills for her insomnia. I'm sure she could get more if she wanted, from a safe US manufacturer... not from China or wherever Nolan is getting these, lol.

I kinda wonder if episode 1 belongs at the end, chronologically speaking, and the whole series is a flashback. She could be flushing pills that nolan gave her. Maybe waking up the morning after prom, thinking "wtf just happened?"

I just rewatched it, and it's possible that when she sees the camera and says "oh, God", she could be looking at something next to the camera. There's a vase of flowers, some clothing, and something that looks like a tag.

Maybe waking up the morning after prom, thinking "wtf just happened?" The episode 1 theory is very interesting indeed! However, the flushing pill thing was from ep6, so if those pills were from Nolan, then Ep6 would be a flash forward? Not buying that part much--but I like the flashback idea for Ep1!

dang. There goes that theory. (btw. ep 6 is pool party. ep 7 is sleepless.) Maybe she has a pill flushing habit, and mentions flushing her sleeping pills in ep 7, but in ep 1 is flushing the replacements she buys from nolan.

You're right, sleepless is 7. However, Danica doesn't flush any pills in 1. She just looks at them and then decides not to take them. Hmm, now I'm not sure.

I like the theory... it'd go a long way towards explaining that first episode.

Hmm... I just assumed that episode 1 was meant to be a flash forward.

How could I have just watched it, and misremembered what happened. IS there an espisode where she flushes the pills, or do I just assume I saw it, because she said it?

You're right. How could I have just watched it, and misremembered what happened. IS there an espisode where she flushes the pills, or do I just assume I saw it, because she said it? lol, she flushed them in Sleepless. She said she couldn't sleep because she flushed her meds (brief clip of the flushing is shown). Sometimes it's hard to keep track of the show... it's those dang 90s episodes. I would actually enjoy it more if they just released the recaps once a week. Sure, I could watch those instead of the eps, but I have no self-control and I watch each individual episode as it comes out anyway. Actually that got me thinking about the IMS format and why PQ chose to make it in such short snippets. I think some of the news articles said it was geared towards generation ADD and blah blah, implying that those long boring 20min tv episodes were so passé and that people would rather watch short clips on their own time. In reality, I think it's to their *monetary* advantage to cut up PQ into as many teensy weensy bite sized pieces as they can. 80 episodes means 80 ads in front and 80 more in back. Reduce that to 16 or some other fraction, and well, you've just reduced advertising revenue by the same amount. So don't tell me what I want to watch, Eisner--you trickster. I'm onto you
