Aqua Teen Hunger Force Ads Shut Down BostonCost to city $500,000-$750,000 The New Face of Terror I don't know whether to laugh or cry over this. This electronic graffiti has been seen and photographed and put up on photosharing sites for weeks and for weeks people observing them "got it". Yesterday someone didn't. I have noticed a generation gap in responses. Everybody under 30 thinks this is proof grownups are idiots. Everybody over 30 thinks this is proof kids are idiots. Best snarky quotes: "LEDs not IEDs" "Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the Bomb" "01/31/07 Never Forget" Sigh, FLWright PS Further proof of a Gaylien Conspiracy???!! Note to Wiki reference to Johnny Quest! <edit> I'm going with Jack Weinberg's quote about the age of 30.

This was almost funny the way the media blew it out of proportions... they covered the search all day, were very alarmist, and at one point exclaimed in horror "AND NOW WE ARE GETTING WORD THAT ONE OF THESE PACKAGES CONTAINED A PICTURE OF THE PERPATRATOR FLIPPING THE BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT THE BIRD! THIS IS A TRUE PSYCHO!"
Umm... so tell me, who looked at that and said "oh yes, clearly this photo of the perpetrator is a light up alien... come on now. I am pretty sure I heard something about these things a few weeks ago, but I did not know about the guerilla campaign. I think a little bit of research though or at least showing the public the picture of the perpetrator would have easily caused someone to recognize it's an Aqua Teen Hunger Force character, not the conclusions they were jumping to.

Hehe. Thanks for pointing this story out.
I really like these and their LED Throwies cousins. I have some environmental concerns with them, but realistically the small scale they are used in I doubt it is a major issue. But then again, I tend to like graffiti (at least the stuff that is done well, nothing worse than a kid that doesn’t know how to work a spray can) looks nice in all its forms and can really make a cityscape look more pretty.
I think it is hilarious that the police were in error because of suspicious Errs.

thanks for posting about this flwright. this is crazy. i love how the guys would only take questions about 70s haircuts at their press conference.
its really a shame that collectively we've had to lose some of our sense of humor because of the fear of terrorism. even random acts of kindness raise eyebrows these days.

Here is the video where the suspects discuss 70s hair cuts after being told by their lawyer to not talk about the case. Brilliant!
