Thanks Trash, he was the MAN! He lived most of his life about 20 miles from where I do, local celebrity... I met him once and it is a funny story: I was having lunch at the bar of a local Greek restaurant when I heard the distinctive laugh from behind a lattice partition. Yep, it was he and a biz handler of his. His head was immense! Now, the funny part of all of this is that this is during the time he was supposed to be IN JAIL . (This was shortly after they found he had $13,000 in cash in his cell...) So, when he came up to the register to pay the bill I asked for his autograph. Got it on a Cuervo Gold coaster!! I asked him how he was getting along with his "confinement" and he put his hand on my shoulder and said "Pray for me son, Pray for me" in that wonderful voice. The fact that he was supposed to be in jail at this point in time never came up... He is famous in these parts for distributing turkeys to the rural poor at Christmas time and other philanthropic deeds. A true legend and a wonderfully conflicted and talented man. Soul Brother Number One.
