Taraiscrushed is killing it on these last few videos... I knew something was coming, but wow. Breathless even. I dunno...go back a week or so, if you haven't been watching. Maybe "Girl Fight!" or "Exposing Myself"or something.

Never watched her before. Checked out her most recent one (you broke me) 1. Looks like she's the one in a motel. 2. Is it just me, or is it odd how she goes from about 0 to 60 at the 1 minute point. 3. The fact she uses such tags despite being in a rage as lonelygirl15 and danielbeast for this video shows she clearly wants it to be seen. Also that fourth/fifth/eighteenth wall effect where there is no chance at all her dad will ever see this is in effect just like with lonelygirl. This is all about drama. OK, unpressed pause. She fizzles out pretty quickly, but you can see as she starts to gain momentum, and then all of a sudden at 1:30 acts all vulnerable. I'm not keen on watching people flip out, and in such a fake manner at that. It's just annoying.

Hye, are you saying this is fake, and Jay are you saying this is real? I only watched the last few vids. It seemed real to me. I only watched up until a minute on the last vid, because I felt it was too real, i.e. too personal. I found it more disturbing than annoying, like I shouldn't be watching, so I stopped.

There is no way to know for sure at this point what it is.. Produced or real..
It definitely feels produced to me.. The rythm.. The editing.. There is no learning curve.. No progression.. So on..
The character feels too familiar.. Daddy issues.. Gym trained.. Capturing looks.. Multifaceted.. Art oriented.. Emotionally suicidal yet extremely self-aware.. In search of higher goals but at the same time very insecure.. Inclined to openly discuss her inner processes.. Etc.. (Cough.. Cough.. Stronger Cough..Even stronger cough that sounds like "Not again.. No! Hos... XKOTZ!!!!".. Somebody say Bless you!)
BUT.. I happen to know of someone in real life with a personality pretty close to this.. And she is having a hard time about it.. So.. Coud it be real? Yes.. Is it? Don't think so..
Interesting for who? If you like experiences that deeply move your feelings.. If you see "Lost" as a succession of psycologychal challenges interesting to plot that require emotional involvement to solve.. If you understand and adore movies like "Troi Coloirs: Bleu" or "My life without me" even thou they may produce stressful feelings hard to endure.. If you are the kind that feels very satisfied watching movies that makes your tears pop and even sob.. If you understand strengh as the quality of those who dare to show their weakness.. Then this is for you!
If you are mind based - Heart wary.. Logical reasoning lover.. Confident that everything has an explanation that can be found and checked.. If you get confussed or annoyed by people overtly emotional.. If you don't feel comfortable discussing feelings or listening to someone else's feelings.. If you are undergoing a radical change and just doubt about everything.. Then this is not for you and you probably will do good not to watch it..
Me? I.JUST.LOVE.IT
Not only that.. But I request help.. Someone who would like to do a episode by episode comment of this IMS.. Or whatever it is.. And would like the share the work with me..
In any case.. I'd love to have the person/persons involved in this at the cove.. This is a very brave creation indeed.. That has been made in the knowledge that it will only appeal to a very minor audience.. Yet they do not care and have made every effort to make it as perfect as possible.. So whoever you are : Thank you from the deepest of my heart.
(I've watched almost all of them in a row.. Going to eat now.. Back in a while to watch the rest.. Havent slept at all yet.. Dont care thou!)

lol, ok ok hermano, I can take a hint.
It sounds as though I may be uniquely qualified to offer an opinion here, so I'll give miss Tara a look tonight.
I love the color movies.

I'm saying I think it's, for the most part, real. But you gotta remember that I still kinda thought Bree was real until early October.

What do you mean, Bree isn't real?
Tara definitely has some realness to her. Some of it is really real. It does seem like she's trying to give the show a certain look, and she has an almost impossible array of issues, but some people do. Plus, she does all these things that an "individual" making a vlog would do, like letting the music run on after the fade to black. Some of videos look terrible even. It's hard to say how much is really her personality and how much is a creation for the videos.
What's interesting about her is that the whole vlog is kinda about her social awkwardness, yet she delivers them with an almost impossible fearlessness. Actually, not quite fearless, but you see her swallow the fear and continue on. It makes you wonder how she wouldn't thrive in a social setting. I think what keeps it feeling real is that something seems to click behind her eyes in the middle of it and you see something primal in her performance. I get a real feeling of depth.
"You Broke Me" really knocked me out, but I think since I was already following along and had a handle on the back story and quirks, it was all that much more potent for me. She pull out all the stops. It was confessional, cathartic, creative, dark and light, with cool music and editing. It even had her painting in it. You can tell she was trying to reach a peak with this one. I came away from it NOT feeling like she was some girl feeling sorry for herself, but someone with genuine emotional issues facing them in a bold brave way. Quite a feat considering how it could've went. A week ago, I half expected her to start stalking someone. I'm so glad I was surprised.

The girl portraying Tara, I believe, is not the person who wrote the original journals or diaries which are the primary source for the vlogs. A woman with the sort of emotions and thoughts voiced by the vlogger would not likely be forthright enough to gaze so directly into the camera as steadily as this woman does. The person saying the words has a protective layer up separating herself from the pain she is portraying.
I don't believe she is scripted, on the other hand; her delivery is very extemporaneous and sometimes too raw to be based on memorized lines. I think that she and the original writer develop the material together, melding the original with some of the actress' own frustrations and disappointments.
I do think that making these vlogs is serving some sort of therapeutic purpose for Tara, whoever she is.
I also have to say that seeing descriptions of this girl as "crazy" and unpleasant is the sort of talk which we lost girls desperately fear, and what keeps us under wraps for so long. It's difficult enough to put ourselves out there to start with, and we already believe that everyone hates us and scorns us for our weaknesses. It's a bit painful to see that.
I do understand how hard that is for most of you to grasp.
A lot of the material in this series could easily have come from the journals and poetry and college writings that I burned at 29 when I finally excised Farrell from my life -- a lifetime of myself and my writings that I thought at the time marked me out as too damaged to be loved by anyone healthy (a belief which I still struggle with every day, although it is slowly getting better and lighter and easier to disbelieve). I wish I had them now; the greatest regret of my life is throwing it all away in that manner for someone who didn't even merit being "the one who ruined my life."
I hope that Tara is getting something positive out of all of this, whoever she is.

Looks like Tara has been busy rounding up viewers. 3 different response videos...Winekone, Abbegirl, and Valsartdiary Painting. Plus, two videos addressing comments that she had low self esteem. 4 videos in the last day?

I guess she's gone into view-getting overdrive and responded to popular youtubers is the best way to do it. However. They are BORING AS SH*#, what the hell?! Her winekone one is horrible, just bored monotone voice saying yeah you're cool... The abbegirl one basically has the wind blowing so loud you can't even hear anything. You can hear some wind in winekone's episode too, and that they were uploaded on the same day makes it seem like she was just going to different parts of a park to film each one. I gave them both one star (the few votes she had were surprisingly good. Considering it's the most boring crap ever.) Watching valsartdiary response now. Wow, you're doing a great job, good job, blah blah, she says the same damn thing in each of these. Glad to see that one of her three comments to that one is someone unsubscribing from boredom. If I was one I'd have subscribed too for that.
And speaking of winekone, he's latest video only has 1400 hits after 5 days despite being one of the top subscribed on youtube?! What the heck is happening??
