I'm not the biggest fan of ARGs, or at least I have never found one that I thought was terribly compelling. What I do find interesting is the concept of ARGs. I came across this article which is a series of interviews with some of the bigger players in the ARG world. I really enjoyed it and found most of what they said really interesting. Sure there is a far bit of rhetoric about how ARGs are super awesome and are gonna to change the world, but most of it is just people talking intelligently about what you can do with an ARG that you can't do with traditional mediums. I enjoyed the short bit where they compare how Jane Austin would be told as an ARG instead of a novel. There is also talk about making profit, but my favourite stuff was the discussions of how in an ARG the author\audience relationship is unique. I still don't know if I am sold on ARGs, but I do have a better understand of their impressive potential. markheggen.com/heggen_noncasual_ARG.pdf
