lonelygirl15 is marketing genius
What a coop. This beautiful young girl calling herself Bree has accumulated millions of fans and what do you know? She isn't Bree at all and she really didn't have a party to go to and no parents that were keeping her from going to the party.
Her name is Jessica Rose, she's 19 and she's trying to make it as an actress. I say she made it. An internet show that just happens to be an advertising gimmick. Well done, too.
She'll be sitting next to Jay Leno and telling all. She's also got an interview on MTV News:
To Miles Beckett, Ramesh Flinders and Greg Goodfried, the men behind the
groundbreaking series of frequently forwarded video clips, Bree is more than
just a friend — she's the epicenter of a new form of collaborative online
entertainment.
That's great... but, what did they hope to accomplish? Bree's YouTube videos... about 2 to 3 minutes long is a story about a young girl and how she lives and she spiraled to the top becoming "the second most suscribed to channel on YouTube.com. " I would say that is quite an accomplishment for an aspiring actress.
Okay. I get it. They set out to make an internet show starring a young girl and to make it interactive so viewers could up load their own thoughts and feelings and actually be able to tell the girl in the movie, "Don't go upstairs! The killer just went up the stairs!" And she'll hear you. Genius.
