I just watched the video. It's edited. Just pay attention at the sound of the steps, it's the same sound (repeated) and it's not the kind of sound someone would produce by walking over that kind of ground. The edition looks professional, the sound effects......I'm pretty sure "The Creators" have something to do with it..........definitely!

It does not look like the video from the others that went looking. Sorry Nos, but your friend seems to be in on it. The video quality is just too good. Some one on the other bored quessed the quality would be professional, and he replys something like "sorry this is HOLLYWOOD" or "Get over it, this is HOLLYWOOD." I'll try to find it a little later tonight. I'll post a link here. Hubby going out of town, got a few things to do. Just had a minute to check the board. ~~~ Edit to add I was just getting ready to look for Cu_Rio's post, but the site is down again. That might be a good thing. Everytime it goes down, it comes back revamped. I can't wait to see what they add to the gallery when it is up and running.

I'll try to find it a little later tonight. I'll post a link here. Hubby going out of town, got a few things to do. Just had a minute to check the board. I'm not taking sides, I'm still not sure what I think myself... But I know there are some great minds on this board and I'm hoping that it can be unravelled. Keep these things in mind though 1) Cu is part of a well established ARG community. Faking this goes against their rules and would get him banned. 2) it was his roommate that edditted the film. When asked about the quality on the other boards Cu also said something about checking out his roommate's (or friend, I can't remember) other films. I did, and they are pretty high quality as well. 3) If this film was made by, or linked to, the creators doesn't that make it more legit? 4) that huge lag time still bugs me. I was one of the suckers refreshing every 5-10 minutes all day yesterday. I can't point to specifics, but it really felt like he was waiting for something before posting it. It could have been completely innocent, but the "one more hour... one more hour..." pattern felt like he was waiting for something.

Uhh, which video are we talking about here? It seems like rogerthegeek is talking about cassie's video and the two most recent posts are about Cu Roi's.
I think we have to assume Cassie's is "real" or there is no "game." Yes it's edited. It's not a continous shot so it's edited... Yes the sounds are manipulated, that's why they sound creepy.
As for Cu Roi's vid being "too professional," I'm wondering if people have been spending too much time watching You Tube videos and have forgotten what high quality production values are. I mean, I always though Lonelygirl15 seemed "fake" in the sense of "too careful and clever to be produced by a sheltered 16 year old and her friend" but not in the sense of "this is genuine high quality stuff." More like, "this is being done by people who know how to produce clean video trying to make it seem naive but they can't really help being a little too slick." Cu Roi's video seems pretty credible to me as far as the quality of the footage and the editing, more so than lonelygirl15 stuff given what how he details the process of producing it.
Now about the time lag in getting Cu Roi's vid posted, I agree it's a little odd. Especially when the payoff was one fracking card. I mean, would it really have been so hard to describe one Tarot card and post a photo? Okay, maybe I'm bitter because I was stuck in front of the computer waiting for so long... But I work in music production and know how long it can take to get little details just right. The editor was probably obsessing over small details, and everything always takes longer than it should. I just wish Cu hadn't made any mention of a time frame at all, I'd have gotten to bed much earlier for one thing...

I was talking about the Cassieswatching video: youtube.com/watch?v=_IcYUifgEfwI'm sure The Creators did it. Here's my evidence: If you see the format of the "This is my Story" (Cassieswatching) video, there's like two "black strips" on the top and bottom of the image. We see the same format on the Lonelygirl15's "Hiking", "Swimming" and "In the Park" videos. It's like the kind of format/camera/technology they use when they film on exteriors. The screen format is different on the rest of the Lonelygirl15 and Daniel's videos, the other videos are on Full Screen Format. "This is My Story" (Cassieswatching"): "Hiking" (Lonelygirl15): "Swimming" (Lonelygirl15): "In the Park" (Lonelygirl15): What do you think?

Interesting. I've brought this up before in relation to Cassie's video (I felt the letter box* aspect ratio was a way of saying, we're telling a story now, not pretending that this is a diary), but hadn't made the connection with the idea of being 'outside' *landscape?

And I think someone got the original before CU and change it for the one with the card. The one at the "This is my Story" video, looks different from the one on the CU's video (http://youtube.com/watch?v=xCUOU_vud0A) Both bags are tied, but one of the sides of the bag looks shorter at the "This is my Story" video.. And also, there's a branch stuck on the bag at the CU's video: Compare! img212.imageshack.us/img212/411/bagsbothvo6.jpg

Gah, I thought the bags looked different too. If this was the case, I hope the creators at least make some 30 second video showing us what we should have found in the bag.
Man, the guys who got there first and filmed CU are jerks!
