Did they make this, or is it some bogus fan movie? I would tend to believe it could be them since that does seem like the location of the swimming video. But then again, someone could have found the location...
and that website doesn't work, is it missing letters?

I don't know who made this movie, but Virginia Heffernan posted about it in the NY times as a "tie-in". Can anyone see what gets dropped into the water?

I'd rather err on the side of caution. Might as well have a forum/thread for it, and see where it goes, if it turns out to be not-them, I can always bin/move the threads and delete the forums I think it's from them, anyway.

i think its not from ramesh and flinders. maybe stenfield is behind this one -- that would make sense because stenfield appears to be VH's primary source, and she clearly had been in contact with him for a day or two before last night's article broke.

And even though they're seperate, they're still linked, so I think it justifies a section

Now I think whoever created this clip did read Pattern Recognition. An intriguing new storyline - or perhaps the new genre has already produced its spinoff.
Anyways the google map has a search string: sheep mountain fire station california. Probably another clue.

There is a sign in one of the still pics in the movie and as far as I can see it reads:
"ANGELES National Forest WILDERNESS INFORMATION"

I think a picture of the bag would be useful too, to see how big and what size it is.

I think a picture of the bag would be useful too, to see how big and what size it is. how's this? The shape doesn't look like anything familiar. Maybe there are multiple "things" in it. I do kinda hope this is a related video, I think it's a cool idea if it is.

Well if you continue with some of the links provided beside the map....you'll see that fires were started there that were factually linked to religious animal sacrifices

It dosen't look very big does it? Looks like a postal sack or similar. That's what I thought. I can't really tell what it's made out of, some sort of canvas maybe? The more I look at the shape, especially the bottom middle, the more I think there are several items in there. And the way it hit the water I think it's relatively dense (unless it is weighted) We've gotta have someone in California who can take the day off on these message boards!!!
