So I guy commented on lg's "A change in my life" page:

I work at CAA and this is a hoax and marketing gimmick...the movie comes out on the 12th of October. I can't tell you the name as I like my job...but stay tuned and don't be angry.

I have been involved in this project for much of this year and now that the article is out I have legal recourse to let you all know that yes, this is a hoax and a marketing gimmick for our film that is slated for release, we hope, on the 12th of October.
The groundswell has been fun and hope y'all won't be too upset.
So I checked IMDB for upcoming films (this has probably already been done) and there are not films scheduled for release on October 12th, but these for the 13th:
Tideland (2005) (New York City, New York)
Father's Prayer, A (2006) (Dixie Film Festival)
Riverdead (2007) (premiere)
Deliver Us from Evil (2006)
Seraphim (2006)
Copying Beethoven (2006)
Shortbus (2006) (limited)
Infamous (2006) (New York City, New York)
Zerophilia (2005) (limited)
One Night with the King (2006)
Nearing Grace (2006)
Infamous (2006) (Los Angeles, California)
Man of the Year (2006)
Casket Climber Insect God (2005) (Arizona)
Driving Lessons (2006) (limited)
Grudge 2, The (2006)
Marine, The (2006)
Each of these films has a link from www.imdb.com/Recent/USA
Which of these films could it be? (if this is even remotely relevant):
Riverdead
A leisurely, beer-filled vacation for a group of partying students turns into a nightmare. After contracting a whitewater river tour, the kids learn that something is stalking them on the legendary Mogollon Rim. Some people believe it to be the mythical Mogollon Monster, but others aren't so sure. No one is safe, including the staff of the river tours, as a force wreaks havoc, slaughtering anything in its path. No phones. No weapons. No chance. The only thing separating the students from certain death is how fast they can paddle.
Seraphim
As a group of teenagers go camping in the woods, they unexpectedly stumble upon a frightening find. A skeleton with an unnatural resemblance of an angel. As the night falls, everything goes awry and they find themselves waking up with horrible scars everywhere. Body parts are missing and all of their worst nightmares are starting to come true. Days pass by and their chances of surviving decrease day by day. They are now stuck on front row seats to experience the world come to an unimaginable end. This won't stop until all of the demons have been sent back to hell. An epic battle between good and evil, which side are you on?
The Grudge 2
In Tokyo, a young woman (Tamblyn) is exposed to the same mysterious curse that afflicted her sister (Gellar). The supernatural force, which fills a person with rage before spreading to its next victim, brings together a group of previously unrelated people who attempt to unlock its secret to save their lives.
