Call me dumb, but did anyone else know that ABC let's you view an ENTIRE EPISODE of selected shows for free? dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landingIf all the networks start doing this, how much do you think our cable modem service is going to go up? There will be no need for cable TV anymore at this rate.

They're all doing it with select shows: www.nbc.com/Video/www.cbs.com/innertube/Of course, if you're only watching national network television, I hope you weren't paying for cable... Once HBO gets on the Bandwagon it'll be time to scrap cable. ESPN already carries a lot of games on its Web site. Everything on MTV is available on demand at launch.yahoo.com -- it's a scary world out there for the old media. Usually you hear about newspapers taking a beating from the blogosphere -- yeah, it's happening, but it's happening just as bad, if not worse, to television, publishing, magazines, recording artists and even films are feeling the squeeze of the Internet.

I really had no idea that they were doing this. Since I'm a big LOST fan, I like to be able to watch shows I missed and it makes it so you can live a normal life, and not say "I have to watch this certain show on that night." Yes, if SHowtime and HBO offer On Demand services online, that would be staggering. We haven't talked much about the effect of this long term (or maybe it has been talked about because I am finding all these old threads with all this stuff already discussed! lol!) on the television industry. I'm wondering what this will do to censorship on the net. We will start seeing international guidelines and laws, moreso than ever? Will content be rated? Who will push for this and not look like an oppessive entity invading people's lives and right to free speech?
