I’m not a NoHoGirls fan but upon Jay’s suggestion I tossed together a quick little YouTube video showing how it is a production. I hope you don’t mind that I did this smashing; I did my best to credit you with the discovery. I just didn’t want the first (and likely most viewed) video of their ‘outing’ to be as awful as the first one for LG was. This one isn’t great, but I think it is at least a little objective. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKEMLs2_so4Oh, and feel free to leave some comments on the video. If we can get it on the most discussed list it is sure to spread the story much more quickly

I don't mind at all. I had no plans to be the one to announce it on YouTube, and I knew someone would, so I'm glad you put that together. I didn't even care about credit, but it was fun to get a mention, so thanks, Terryfic! I exalt thee.
edit: Oh, and I thought it was quite a well done video! I liked the exposé reporter-style narration.

WTF? I think either the blogtraffic from the nohos has crashed my blog, or someone has diverted the traffic? i can't pull it up at the moment.
but if you're reading this, you know the story already . . .
EDIT: seems to be back up now.

Thanks guys, I’m glad you liked it. At first I wanted to make a really fancy big E Talk Daily – NoHoGirls Xposed! style video. But then I realized it was 3 in the morning and I actually knew nothing about the NoHoGirls. So I decided to make this short little one instead, I think the style of it was largely influenced by the many Lonelygirl15 is a production tv clips I saw last month. I sort of wanted to give this one that same sort of quick gloss over, just the facts sort of feel. At the same time I wanted to beat to the punch anyone who wanted to make a mean vid, like that guy who made the first lonelygirl15 is fake vid. That guy sucked.
My voice in the vid is a combination of me trying to do a voice combined with me being sick. I think my inflection is off in a few bits, but overall I think it worked. I’d say my NPR interview is closer to my normal speaking voice.

"NoHoGirls" left a comment on Terry's video about an hour ago: ______ Boo! Cool video. I'm going to show it to my friend Charlie Cobb. love, Cara ______ Update: While skimming Scott Z's Myspace friends to see if the other actors were on there, I noticed this girl has a striking resemblance to WeHo girl Leah: www.myspace.com/tarah_despainGoogle of "Tarah Despain" brings up an imdb page. She's an actress who did a bit part on Rescue Me.

Cara posted a comment on my youtube page last night: ----- NoHoGirls | October 19, 2006
Hey Milo,
It's just me Cara from North Hollywood.
Sup? ----------
This is chillingly reminescent (at a much lower scale) of lg15 posting a comment on sharpdressedman's myspace BEFORE she was outed !
In other news, the NoHoGirls appear to have been removed from the alltime most subscribed charts. With 7866 subscribers listed on their channel, that should make them #22 all time. Something must be up.

I can imagine that YouTube's management might not be amused if this turns out to be advertising for an online porn site.

There's no real evidence for the porn theory that I can find. Look at Scott Zakarin's imdb page www.imdb.com/name/nm0952243/ His career so far has been producing videos for Sid Ceasar and William Shatner. Then he did Soup of the Day, which wasn't marketing for a porn site, just an interactive internet miniseries. I kind of wish it were porn, but I see no reason to believe it. That being said, I have no idea why they would be removed from the top subscribers, that's just weird. It's been pointed out (I think by milo, but I can't find the thread) that Danielbeast has more subscribers than Renetto, yet is nowhere on the top subscribed list. I still don't know why that is. My guess would be one of YouTube's 62 total employees makes executive decisions about who deserves to be on the top subscribed list. I might have to start a new thread about this, but I think that's unethical of YouTube, even though they can probably legally do anything they want with the list because it's their site.
