the Web site WeHoGirls.com was registered yesterday through GoDaddy.com. Either somebody is watching for squatting opportunities like a hawk or something is up...

Looks like Cara just left a comment on your blog... I like how you posted that they're fake, and she just responds thanking you for the support

Have you whois'd the IP address that was used to post the comment?

Hadn't thought of that. There are a few visitors in that time period today. The two most likely candidates appears to be untraceable IPs.
And thanks for catching cara's comment, smashing. i dont have autonotify on for any blog comments.

Well, whaddya know. The WeHo girls posted their first video today. WeHo is the new Danielbeast, loosely speaking. Leah posts a response to Daniella's video yesterday calling her out for sleeping with Eddie. Oh the DRAMA! the new vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bARr72NMMPYwww.youtube.com/profile?user=WeHoGirlsEDIT: OK Jay and Vanilla, i see you've both subscribed to WeHo girls along with me! Ha. Make sure to add Leah to your myspace friends, they've got that covered too: www.myspace.com/leahwagner (Note she already has 52 friends -- they must have set this account up a few weeks ago).

The creation of the DanielBeast account may be heralded as a landmark moment in the Internet Mini-Series. Part of the appeal of these series will always be looking in on a web of people's social lives. I wish I were in a college drama class, I'd propose doing this with, like, 12 different characters and a half-dozen storylines. Imagine, a Beverly Hills 90210 delivered through this medium.

Wow that Leah Wanger thing was SO lame. I love how she starts right off the bat saying "Hi. I have turmoil with my friend", jeez oh man! At least Bree introduced herself first. It just made things so clear it was being done for a completely fake purpose, and yet she's like "oh yeah guys I'm REAL". Well real or not, I don't think anyone cared because you were not interesting of dynamic enough for people to think you're fake.

When LG started, most people believed it was real, and the creators later confirmed in interviews their intent "was to tell a very realistic story." So they set their own standard. In contrast, NoHo vs. WeHo isn't fooling anybody, but I don't think that's their main mission. If it is, they've failed, but it looks like their real concern is just getting viewers and getting them to send them messages, since they beg for it in almost every video and even made a video of them sitting around a computer reading comments. So maybe they make up for being fake by being responsive to the audience. milowent requests a yoga video--bam--he's got it. I do give them credit for that.

Hey, sorry, this is kinda lame that I signed up just to respond to this thread but I HATE the NoHoGirls. The story, the characters, etc. I actually like LG and don't care that it's fake; I still watch it. Anyway, this is a really lame this to point out, but Daniella and Leah Wagner's myspace were made on the same day as each other. Blue's and Cara were made about a month later on the same day. They all three have the exact same MySPace layout, with a slightly different pastel color background (except Cara, who has the same color scheme but has "art" instead of a solid color). The profiles are obviously created by the same person. Nearly all of their pictures are proffessional, too. Except that all of them bothered to put a childhood picture on there, like the producers asked them for a picture of them when they were a kid as a way to attepmt to legitimize their profiles. Also, who the hell puts their real full name all over the internet? Besides Lisa Nova and Stevie Ryan, because they are trying to be real actresses. Cara Brimley I can even get, because she is an "artist". But Leah Wagner? Why is it neccesary to say "Hi, I'm leah Wagner, blah blah". I keep almost starting a video blog but there is NO WAY I will include my last name and keep refering to myself with my full name. I thought one thing that made Bree seem real is that she said in her first blog that she didn't really want to disclose where she lives. These HoHos are plastering where they live and their full names all over the place. Anway, I guess it's true that the video creators aren't even trying to hide that it's fake. It's just like, I want to ask them, what makes you think your fake show is so good that I'm going to watch it even if I know it's fake? You need more insentive to watch a fake show than a real one, there are fake shows all over TV. We turn to youtube for the vouyeristic element of watching real people. I haven't been able to sit through one full episode of the HoHos. Sorry, I over analyze things. I got angry these HoHo creators were trying to pull one over on me as a viewer and their show isn't even good.

Oh yeah, I was going to say that I thought part of the reason for L-Wag including her full name is so that we would look her up on MySPace... and whuddyano, she's on myspace with her full name as her display name.

Geez, I just watched the Blue In Pink video where she says, "if you're ever in Hollywood send me a message, maybe we'll meet up."
!!!
I agree, Elisha, it's inane. But I think the intended audience aren't really the sort that are interested in whether it's fake or not. The point is that the show is very sexual. I don't think it will struggle for viewers.

Yeah, I agree with Elisha here. The full name thing was really unnatural, nobody does anything like that. Even if you don't pick a nickname, at most you'd use your first name. It was just there so you could neatly google for it, and find the MySpace or maybe other things they have or will set up. My problem with NoHo is that whatever they are trying to setup for plot isn't so engaging for me. But I guess, it will turn into a reality soap, and there are plenty of people who like that. And if they keep up the interaction concept they will definitely have an edge. Oh, an btw, welcome to Anchor Cove
