Suze, I urge you to listen to it again. This is what I was able to pick out of it (it's so difficult to make it out with all the other noise going on)

Although I agree that the pronunciation sounds native, or at least skilled, you have to realize the writing is awful. It's not as bad as with callmejules24 (which we did verify was ripped straight from babelfish). I think this is almost certainly from someone with Spanish as a second language who took it for a few years in school. It's very reminiscent of things I've been asked to proofread; just the way words are misused. I'll give them the pronunciation though. R's were rolled, s's were dropped. Maybe it helps to be from Southern California.

El tiempo llego para pelear pa' tras [this is odd but, googling the phrase, I found it in a few places] contra el anormal/mal/animal [beast??]. Sabemos y lo terminamos. Unidad en vida. Well, yeah, AS writing, but I don't think it's supposed to sound like professional writing, I think it's supposed to sound like El Grito. A cry of passion, not a composition exercise.

My hypocrisy in criticizing the paramilitary nature of this video, given the nature of my long-ago fan vids, is rather absurd. Perhaps we should view this latest offering in the same buffoonish, tongue in cheek, light.

Oh, and a big YEAH Beer out to the person who so graciously reminded me of this. I got a big hoot at myself about this .

As for the vid, isn't it great that how this kind of thing has at least let us ramp up the satire (not rancor BK) to fun levels again. I am actually encouraged that this will be fun again!

Finally, I enjoy BK's eternal optimism in the face of crashing servers and absurd content. It takes grande cojones to do this everyday and I respect that. Really.

It may diminish your opinion of me (if that's possible ), but, frankly, I'm a fan of the show. I enjoy the videos. I don't watch them with the same sense that I'm owed something particular from the story. I was sucked in because I thought it was a phenomenal way to tell the story, and I liked the characters. I'm still intrigued by the story they're telling and wondering where it will go next. I would only be disappointed if nothing happened.

Same here. And as a number of long-ago ex-boyfriends and recent ex-employers would testify, if I find something boring and/or annoying, I'm outta there. I just like the silly thing, warts and all.

That's really good. I couldn't figure out what they meant by "el mejor de nosotros", but you're right, maybe they meant their leaders. "Una" should have preceded the "chica". Just in general everything you said was on the mark.
What I can't overlook though is that they said "el Orden" instead of "la Orden". As a native speaker, I can't tell you how we know the correct gender of words, but I can assure you we don't screw it up for basic words like that. Also when he says "para pelear pa' atras", that's actually a really common phrase. I have a feeling it's an anglicism because it literally means "to fight back", which is an idiom. The "pa'" is just a contraction of the word "para", so yeah... you probably heard plenty of that and other desecration of the Spanish language during your work in Zacatecas!

Meh... so basically the point of the video, Spanish narration and all, was to confirm that a)Bree was killed for the Elders, and b)they want to fight back... now, not when Bree needed them.

I think "estaban robando" is an anglicism, too, at least I think my Spanish teachers would have encouraged the use of "robaban" instead.

I was actually working here in Tulsa--about half the population of Zacatecas has moved up here in the last 10 years.
