This is right on the money, and my thoughts exactly. If they just accepted that this show's audience is (or should I say was...), as you say mainly intelligent 20-35 year-olds, and kept tailoring the episodes to this demographic instead of trying to convince them selves that it is 13 year olds that hold most of their fan base, the direction that this series took could have been brilliant. one time on mixed media, i believe the c's said they had a majority female audience, age 14-40. i don't know what they based that on, and how it was split up among "14-40". there ARE a lot of youngsters at the phorum. i think its possible to develop a show which appeals to teens and "intelligent 20-35 year olds", and these are shows which we often compare to lg15 (not saying its always a favorable comparison): gilmour girls (well hyemew at least compares it), and buffy. any others?

hmm... just throwing some out there,
House, Lost, Veronica Mars, Medium - all deal with mysteries and clues, and they appeal to a fairly wide audience without turning corny.

There is a thread and poll in GTKE that asks how old everyone is, I know it isn't a very sceintific survey as only 86 people reponded, but the 11-17 y.o.s were only 24%, the rest were older, most, 40% were 18-25 y.o.s. It does seem there are a lot of youngsters on the forum now,but that wasn't always the case, I remember being surprised when people revealed that they were law students, graduate students in psychology, engineers, etc.

this video was posted on youtube on april 29th ( link). It currently has 292,342 views, a resurgence from the most recent videos, which have generally performed poorly Is this a testament to jessica's mastery of the youtube screen? Blog Girl, bree's next vlog, was posted the next day, which usually would cannibalize views from the prior video when they are posted so closely together, but not this time it appears). The last lg15 video to exceed 200,000 views was Truckstop Reunion (currently 244,897 views, posted on youtube April 3, 2007). The last video that exceeds Sloppy Drunk's current total is Flesh Wound (currently 376,583 views, posted on youtube March 19, 2007).

300,000 views in a mere few days after a series of 50k and unders after a week?! What the heck is going on! YouTube thy name is inconsistancy. its the surfing effect of youtube striking again. if you get enough views in the 1st 24 (or is it really 48?) hours, you begin to rise near the top of the most viewed daily lists, thus allowing you to catch the wave of people who look at the most viewed videos, and get a lot more views that way. This video is now #8 in most viewed this week.

300,000 views in a mere few days after a series of 50k and unders after a week?! What the heck is going on! YouTube thy name is inconsistancy. If anything, YouTube is too consistent. After all, this is the same thing that always happens. The video's name caught the attention of subscribers who clicked. It quickly got onto the most-viewed charts - the first video in awhile to do so -- and, once again, people clicked because they were intrigued by the title. It's on the most-viewed this week chart and will continue to garner a significant number of views because it's on a prominent page with an intriguing title. We've known this is how YouTube works for a long, long time.

Interesting, so conceivable one could argue that LG's big numbers were never really a fanbase, it was just hoards of curious watchers. Once some of hte actual fans did get turned off to it, just enough to keep it off the top lists, you really got to see how many devoted fans there are watching on youtube as all those happenstance viewers were no longer viewing.
