one.revver.com/watch/209364 www.lonelygirl15.com/?p=212&play=1SummaryJonas and I picked Bree up at a truckstop. Turns out she was filming too, and I thought it would be kinda funny to edit the two videos together. Hope you like it! - Daniel Milo adds:I liked it. If product placements so obvious as this become common, i'd have a problem, but its fairly amusing to see it placed here in the context of the show's current plot. I also like the device of interpersing footage from daniel's camera and bree's camera. It worked really well. --- previously: Coming ... currently uploading .. while you wait, why not enjoy:

I actually watched this one to see how the product placement was going to work. Over all I didn't think it was that bad. I liked the 2 cameras thing and the acting was ok.
The fact that Bree is now dressing more like daisy duke? Um, Ok?
But I just hope this is the beginning of a new direction to put the series back on track as well. Instead of, to quote Jonas, a Big build up and no delivery.
Icebreakers gum placement. Wasn't totally unconvincingly done as some product placements can be. But if Bree didn't give up the gum... What was Jonas chewing at the end while he was stretching? hmmm??

• black helicopter obviously not in the show budget, but a happy accident and deliberately left in so we can imagine it's Tachyon's helicopter, or one belonging to the (New World?) Order.
• Bree's goofy faces and waving to camera now seem a little forced, but she's still pulling it off ok.
• "that is what we call a 'house of the ladies'" ...Jonas, I don't think that's what anyone calls it but you. Funny line reading though. I think Jonas has proven to have the best comic timing of anyone on the show, surprisingly.
• Bree decides to dress provocatively while loitering around a truck stop parking lot...yeah, that's not going to give anyone the wrong idea.
• Daniel wears a Rumblers Car Club T-shirt. Who knew he had a secret love of hot rods? Gay innuendo not intended.
• Jonas on not getting gum: "You give us this big build up, then no delivery." Jonas once again the voice of the fans. I can't imagine this line was just thrown in there without them recognizing the double meaning.
funny video, long-ish video. thumbs up.

I would agree that the product placement wasn’t forced either, even considering that Bree stated the name of the product, and we got a clear shot of the package of Ice Breakers Sours TM gum. There was much potential for some real awkward cheesiness, but I think they pulled this off well.
As far as Bree’s outfit is concerned, all I can say is, at least, she had a tank-top on under her Tachyon-scissor-split-work-out flannel. Yee Haw, Daisy Duke! It’s about time they sex up the show and earn that PG-13 rating for more than naughty language.

It looked to me as if she was about to give one to Jonas and then pulls back her hand and pops them all in her mouth? And then Jonas says the line about the buildup/delivery?

They do seem to be thinking of quite a few new fliming techniques, hopefully they will continue to use and delevop them.

You know, I liked that episode. Bree made light of the typically super serious (yet super ridiculous) Order running thing, and she was really cute and old Bree like doing it. It even contained a pop culture reference (which I live for) with the Thelma comment. I can be 100% sure this was Mesh writing, I really hope we have more of it, it was truly refreshing. I haven't liked an episode this much in a long time.
The product placement... was hokey, but I can't say I didn't smile when Bree pulled the fast one on them along with the sour reaction. Sure made up for the Vanna White-presentation of the product to the camera and articulation of the entire name, no doubt that was stipulated in the contract. So overall they worked will with what they were dealt.
A note for the LGpedia entry on this will certainly be this was the first time two characters filming at the same time in different places has ever been done, and I think it worked REALLY well.
Also, when Bree said she was going to be a trucker (hence her Daisy Dukes-type outfit, sure that was the reason for doing that) did anyone else think of that hysterical picture from when she was exposed? The one where she essentially looks like a trucker complete with hat, cigarette, and beer? Perhaps it'll come true!

Thumbs up for the two camera action. Product placement fairly non-invasive. I thought of the trucker pic too, Hye. heh...

ok ok I've been out a little late tonight so it is probably best if I keep my mouth shut (I just wish Bree would would do the same thing)...I'll be in the chat tommorow night. Maybe you can straighten me out there. I sure do hope so.
A friend and I watched this one together and had quite a few laughs (some actually qualified as guffaws!) I thought again of my college days and the reference to "Genereal Hospital". There are SO many potential drinking games we could have based on this media sensation!
oh for god's sake...this whole thing has become so f'ing silly! DOn't get me wrong. This is not a outraged resignation. Not by any means! To be sure...this is a reaffirmation of my committment to this thing (whatever it has become - and WTF has it become by the way?)
I must admit that I had lost my perspective on this thing...but this episode has brought it all back into focus!
What fun we have in store

I think this video was quite refreshing . (Maybe the gum was a metaphor for this, lol ) I agree with Smashing, Jonas is provong himself to have the best comic timing out of everyone. I like watching the banter between him and Daniel. As for the helicopter - do you think the creators went out one day and just filmed helicopters so they could place them in the videos where the characters are outside and on the run? I hope that they do make something good come out in the plot with the helicopters, because otherwise it's just a bit of a lame way to suggest that the Order is everywhere. Fingers crossed they give it some substance! Oh, and I liked the 2 cameras thing. That was nicely done. *** PS. A little off topic: I had a uni lecturer for a video scriptwriting class that was very, very bitter because he said that he had written this great movie script, but that someone had stolen it, produced it and it has now become a classic, well known film of modern culture. We hassled him continuously to tell us what it was but he never would. Then one day at the end of semester when only a few people had turned up to the class he let us know what movie it was (with, what I am sure was tears gradually emerging from his eyes). After a deep breath he uttered “Thelma and Louise.” Now, normally I wouldn’t believe someone if they told me this, but the poor guy was just so cut! I think that either it really did happen, or he is a better actor than a script writer! But imagine that, "Thelma and Louise" pretty much made the road trip genre, and it's referenced to in all sorts of other works - now even Lonelygirl! Poor guy...

"...centuries from now our great-great-great-grandchildren will look back at us with amazement at how we could allow such a precious achievement of human culture as the telling of a story to be shattered into smithereens by commercials, the same amazement we feel today when we look at our ancestors for whom slavery, capital punishment, burning of witches, and the inquisition were acceptable everyday events." -- Werner Herzog
