Also, the South Africa thing sounds kind of like an excuse, I mean seriously I'm personally getting sick of the multitude countries each character seems to be from. It's not an excuse if Jackie's actually from South Africa. As for "each character," there are only two others. Bree used to live in New Zealand and has a bit of a New Zealand accent. And Daniel speaks American English. I understand that you don't like Gemma/Jackie/her videos. We all have our things about the show we don't like, and I'm not trying to convince you to change your opinion. Just stating the facts.

Hey, I don't want to be negative. I'm a little pissed at the way this has gone down. And I'm a little PMS'ing too. I'm a grumpy whore basically

It doesn't sound like she's even trying in this video. Most of it sounds like an Aussie/Kiwi girl, with occasional English bits (like pronouncing t's when she remembers).
As for the alumnus debate. I am English, and in University it's a perfectly common word. But (and this is a big but) NOT pronounced like that.
I'm really not sure what I think about this whole addition to the LG world...

Well, she says she's not trying to sound English. She says she's from South Africa. *yawn* Yeah NOW they say so. I feel the way these characters are open with us Gemma would have mentioned South Africa at least for a short time, since after all she lived there most of her life that her accent got ingrained as a South African one. But no, never a word about it, until everyone told her she was not doing a British accent. It's a made up story, so they can make up whatever they want about her. In my opinion they made her from the only other major English speaking country left that'd leave her with an accent like that. You CANNOT tell me the South African accent includes a merry-go-round between what some think are Aussie, kiwi, British, American, etc. accents. The woman is a chameleon of bad accents, I think the South Africa story line was just added now as a cover for why she doesn't have a good British accent. I've heard South African accents, not much, but I've heard them and they weren't like that. No expert though.

Busy with life, I find myself again behind in the LG15 universe. I just saw the Gemma videos today, and my first thought was : "Girl #2 - Supporting / FEMALE / 14 TO 15 / Caucasian Required Skills - Performance Skills: Improvisation Cute, quirky, funnier than Girl #1 (think young Natasha Lyonne or Michelle Flaherty).” I guess where she is from is not a huge issue for me. I suspect this role was planned from the beginning, and am very curious as to how her part interacts with the storyline. For those who are looking for more exposure to South African Accents: web.ku.edu/idea/africa/southafrica/southafrica.htm

Ok.. I'm quoting myself here: "since Gemma placed herself in a higher position than Bree (kind of older sister) we can expect her to be Bree's voice of wisdom " I agree! wait.. Of couse I do! It's me! Do this for me: Play Gemma's video and minimize the window so you don't see her face, just listen to her voice.. Do you get the same feeling I did of a girl reading a text out loud in a monotone meaningless voice? As for the content.. Well, here we go again, Gemma telling Bree that it does not matters what she thinks or what she wants for she is not worthy of having a mind of her own. "Don't think Bree! I'll tell you what you are and what to do.. Just now you are nothing without me and what you have to do is listen to me and do as I say!". Well I don't know about the cult.. but Gemma? She is dangerous! I won't talk like that to my cat! She is so full of herself I wonder whether she got away from the cult or they just kick her out! She didn't get choosed for the ceremony.. Oh my! That's terrible! How did she survived to something like that! ;D She obviously has bussines with her parents that go back in time.. I'm still to see her showing real tenderness or caring.. Maybe she fears being caught red-handed showing feelings! :-) Gemma: You really need to feel loved by your own. Anyway.. This two (Bree and Gemma) will make an interesting interaction for Bree lacks the strengh and Gemma lacks the sensibility each other have.

Let's all be as negative as we possibly can! THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA! I may seem naive here.. But.. Are you ok? You seem unevenly affected by the negative and the positive.. You focuss only on the negative and there is plenty of positive too. I mean.. Aren't you seing reflected your own negativity? Well.. Let me tell you this: My job is a dangerous one, I just came from the burial of a co-worker who got killed this week and was not motivated at all to laugh, belive me.. But watching Bree's new video made laugh because it became obvious to me that Jessice Lee Rose has changed too with this experience and she can't be the old Bree anymore no matter how hard she tries.. Our little Bree is growing up! Maybe this should go on a P.M. (Private message.. Not Purple Monkey you fanatics! I knew thats what you were thinking! ;D)

Joss: Personally I am seeing much more negativity than positivity which is why sometimes I check almost every other thing I can before I force myself to check this board. It's toned down though in the past day and I am very grateful, because it was really making my blood boil/me cry/me stressed out, etc. I had a big Vent to Terry about it yesterday. <3
Anyway, yeah, probably PMworthy, but, whatever.

Yeah NOW they say so. I feel the way these characters are open with us Gemma would have mentioned South Africa at least for a short time, since after all she lived there most of her life that her accent got ingrained as a South African one. But no, never a word about it, until everyone told her she was not doing a British accent. Dude, Hye, calm down on the accent. It was never an English accent, I said that from day one and as to her not explaining her accent and how that is SO unbelievable. Do you forget how long it took to Bree give her back story and the reason for her mishmash accent. I also think it works within this story that Gemma moved around a lot, she belongs to the same religion as Bree and it had long been suspected that it was because of said religion that Bree moved around a lot. It has been hinted that Lucy, the only other member of the religion we know, also moves around a lot. You would let yourself get that worked up over a chatroom or message board??!!?? Now that is CRAZY! Once you hit real life this will all seem like fun and games. : ) Buddy, I would really issue an apology about this if I were you, I don’t think you meant any harm, but Alissa has had a very real life and any comment to the opposite is quite absurd. Also I don’t think it is at all strange to get emotionally effected by the talk at a message board, especially one you have spent a lot of time at over the past couple months and have become good friends with the people at.
