Hye, I always thoroughly enjoy your posts. Rants and all. I am happy that you have an outlet for your frustrations here. If nothing else, we serve that dubiously noble purpose ...
As a phourum mod, I am sure it is painful to watch the vapidity of the phourmites as they blindly chase for the next "clue", without any regard to character or realistic plot. They ARE the demographic though, and they are getting what they appear to want. Perhaps Jay was right and the creators are only delivering the product that their (changed demo) phanbase demands. If they start catering to the comment page folks, then we are in really deep doo doo.
I have no solution other than to stop watching and I am not ready to give up yet. Not without a fight...

Haha, dubiously noble purpose indeed! As a phourum mod, I am sure it is painful to watch the vapidity of the phourmites as they blindly chase for the next "clue", without any regard to character or realistic plot. Actually, I don't see that because I refuse to read threads which are 5 pages of OMG IT'S LOADING, WHAT WILL IT BE?! 5 pages of OMG SOMETHING HAPPENED, I'M WATCHING IT! And then 10 pages of the most off-the-wall speculation you've ever seen. So few there have their heads screwed on in any fashion what-so ever.. They ARE the demographic though, and they are getting what they appear to want. Despite the way the Creators seem to have distanced themselves from any notion that they changed and went whichever way the noisest fans told them to (except for the admitted time they did this with Hiking, though I find it odd that they would think a teen guy and a girl in a room would be seen any other way than possible love interests), I feel that it is more and more apparent this is what they do. Thought so since days after the outing and Cassie got huge. Freaking 80 page thread about her popped up over night... If they start catering to the comment page folks, then we are in really deep doo doo. I am still a LG fan, if for no other reason than I really respected what they started out with and still feel the early episodes were amazing in so many ways, but I swear the second I hear Bree scream out FIIIIIIIIIIIRST I am going cold turkey. I have no solution other than to stop watching and I am not ready to give up yet. Not without a fight... That articulates how I feel exactly!

Hye (and CG and I guess everyone else) I read your post and all of a sudden felt sad. MAybe it's becasue it's cold and dark and raining and Christmas is over but I think it's more because I think, that is I think, the problem is really that LG15 has simply become a victim of its own success. To apply a business analogy, it had to decide: Remian a cottage industry, live simply and underpay its workers, or refinance, upgrade, and capitolize, bring on some stock holders and pay them off. It looks like the choice was made. It's a choice few people can be blamed for making these days. We have come a very, very long way from the sheltered room of a sheltered girl befriending a sheltered boy sharing her sheltered secrets. We have crossed the equator from the homeschooled girl deciding to that she will sneak out the window go to the darn party anyway. I have to admit something. I am a 50 year old guy who has led a fairly hard scrabble life. It isn't likely that anyone I know would even suspect that I would have been watching this story and it isn't likely I'd share the news to quickly. I started watching because it was different. It was Capra-esque in a world that has forgotten that "every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings". I liked that! Here was a young girl that seemed on the brink of discovery. I looked froward to the next episode to see what new windows were opening, what was she going to figure out next and hope that she didn't get too hurt finding out. Maybe the gauze pads and the diets, and the ceremony came along just before my jaded soul would have gotten bored. Maybe that's why I kept watching when things started to turn south. Bree's non-Dad is dead now and she is involved. Bree needs to grow up and get some callouses. It's a different story now. When a guy gets shot and you are involved PMonkey aint gonna help you "lawyer up" or lam it out of there and beleive me the bookends (I love that) are not Bogart and Cagney; crap they aren't even Cagney and Lacy When things get too big for a girls stuffed animals to help fix her world, well, she's not a girl anymore and there are way too many stories - better told - out there like that. It's sad. BTW Hye..do you know that prick BK? because I got some issues to settle with him that Owen aint gonna be able to help him make right! (just kidding) Oh my GOD I just realized - just now - BK may be a girl -YIKES!)

I don't know Broken Kid. I've always assumed BK was a guy too, but then again everyone assumes I'm female. Ambiguous handles will do that to you. BK very well could be female, (s)he has what is in my opinion an affinity for Owen too extreme to be a guy now that I think about it, though I always assumed he was.

....people think you're a girl hyemew? I.... never thought that was hard to discern. And not just because there's a handy gender-teller right above your karma. -shrugs- Wel, if it makes you fee any better.... you're very masculine and manly and not at all feminine in my eyes. Unless you want to be.... J/k.... sorta..... heh. But I must agree with Slainte. It's not this sheltered, protected little world within the show anymore which we all started watching. It's not even realistic anymore. The whole series has become a melodramatic poorly written soap opera. And we keep watching for two main reasons.... because we don't want to admit to ourselves that maybe.... we wasted our time. And 2... as soon as we'd cut our losses, things would go from wretched to really good.... we stick around in case anything good happens. I know this is the case for me at least and some others I've seen. -sighs- I wish it could go back to when the biggest news was that LG15 wasn't real and the most dramatic thing of the story was Bree's simple, yet strange, religion and the Order wasn't evil and hellbent on ruining everything for everything. Damn Order.
