This is clearly a hiking-lite for Bree and Jonas. The original hiking made fans think Daniel liked Bree, and then he did. I'm sure this was MEANT to make fans think Jonas likes Bree and perhaps the story is now going to be about that tension.

I loved Jonas's facial expression in the last second of the video. So cute.

When people make posts about how the Cove is too negative I often feel they are directed at me. But I can’t say a single negative thing about this episode. I loved it.
It was a return to all the things that first attracted me to LG. This video is, as those before me have said, Hiking 2 – Jonas Boogaloo. The first Hiking video has always been one of my favorites, the subtle (and supposedly accidentally) method of showing Daniel’s love for Bree by just the way he filmed her and how he put that video together has always been one of the crowning moments of LG and it showed (once again accidentally) just how to use this medium to its fullest.
This episode was just as great, and perhaps a little more interesting this time as the camera gets handed off and we can see Bree’s growing feelings for Jonas as well. She gives him a look that she use to give Daniel (like at the end of Daniel Returns) that sly I-say-I-don’t-like-you-but-I-real-do sort of look that only a girl like Jess can pull off, and all of us can only dream of ever receiving.
The conflict at the end between Jonas and Daniel was fantastic as well. The fact that the drama and conflict is happening between characters who are integral to the story is going to lead to far more satisfying and captivating stories than anything involving the faceless Order. The possibilities of a heart broken video from Daniel after Bree admits she likes Jonas, or a video by a conflicted Jonas not knowing if he should following his feelings for Bree or respect his friendship with Daniel and instead try to suppress them, get me, for the first time in a while, excited about the future of LG. Some will say this is all just soap operay stuff and they should get back to the guns, action and killing. I say this is what being Human is really all about. Emotional conflict leaves much deeper wounds than any OpAphid strike.

I love how this cabin was abandoned for several months or even years, right? Yet Jonas was able to find the keys to it in a hurry... they left from his house hastily. And there's a brand spanking new stainless steel fridge. And food in that fridge, although it's assumble they paid the local supermarket a visit. And yet, there's not a speck of dust anywhere to be seen. Ha. Now that's what I want... a self-cleaning cabin. Other than those details which only the meticulous OCD person that I am could concentrate on, I liked it. A little awkward and light considering the situation, but it was a nice relief from all the heavy opaphid shit we've been getting. And I love how Daniel was pissed at the end. Bwahaha. Maybe that's not acting... I've liked Jonas for awhile now. It took me awhile. But I do now. I'm going to be real upset if he turns out to be a traitor. He's turned out MUCH better than Gemma. -shivers- I cannot bear to think of the horror that was Gemma. -shivers again-

I liked this one also and I am firmly in the "A soap opera is more entertaining than portraying senseless murder" camp.
An offering like this just reinforces my opinion that the short "vlog" medium is SOOOO much better suited for this type of dramatic production than the full-on Orderite plot. It just seems so much more effective to me, but I realize that perhaps the C's are still trying to find the right balance of pacing, content, and ways to satisfy all the different phan demos.
Yeah Mesh!

Jackson does alright in this though. It's like doesn't really mean any harm. Terry, great point about the Bree POV. She gets to reciprocate. In fact, I almost feel like she likes him more that he likes her.

Can't help noticing parallels in this to those sublime lyrical moments in Jules and Jim when they're romping at the seaside or running across that bridge. Given Mesh's fondness for Truffeau, and J and J in particular (re his My Space page) , I wonder if this is an (unconscious?) homage . . .

I know very little about classic French films, though I noticed Mesh's love of french films on his myspace (he lists his favorite french films 1st)

Don't rate this'un I'm afraid.
Although, shouldn't they be covering up their foot prints in the snow? They might get found out if some Watchers find the right foot prints to follow.
