www.lonelygirl15.com/?p=189&play=1SummaryWe've been on the road for awhile. It was a long way to Jonas's parent's cabin in the mountains. Hopefully we'll be safe. CreditsGolden Rules by The Golden Shoulders www.myspace.com/gs [this is like the third time the Golden Shoulders have been used.] Filming him is not going to help things .... --- milo adds: funny for what it was, though kind of strange in light of them "fleeing" jonas' house. but on the other hand, the watchers don't ever seem to hurt them. why would lucy have told Bree it was "her choice" to leave with Daniel -- i mean, they used Daniel as a lure? Is this like Lost where the Others try to use psychology to get the doctor guy to do things? the random chatter at the last part of the video ("Whoops I used my cell phone? We're screweedd!!") reminded me of videos i used to make in high school. Luckily we were not being chased by some weird cult at the time.

My first thoughts were that we just saw (actually it was her delivery) much more of Jess than we have to date. Kinda un-Bree like, but still cool.
On the plot (?) wagon, I think this whole vid was nothing but a throw another "Jonas is EEEEEVVVVVIL" log on the phorum phire to keep the rabid phans in a phrenzy. Why else would they have him using the phone?

Oh, good point george... perhaps his "phoning ahead" was him going *ckksht* Order, come in Order, this is Private Jonas, letting you know we're on our way.. *ckksht*. Or more reasonably it was just him making a call so the Order can track them. That would be quite a twist, though rather unfortunate because he's such an established character now it'd be kind of damaging if he turned evil and sent them back to the two characters only, they already have enough enemies. Though this would give a face to the enemy, but they'd have to be interacting with evil-order Jonas constantly for him to not be relegated to a Lucy role once evil. Overall I'm quite sure Jonas is not evil, but then again since Bree's dad was shot seriously anything can happen so it's kind of hard to play by the rules of practicality. ---------------------------------------------------------- ALSO on a different note-- who the hell is writing the lonelygirl15 bulletin posts now?? I always kind of though bulletin posts should give some sort of information to get people's interest up upon reading it that'd make them WANT to watch the video. Some are very minimalistic, but after looking over the past 10 or so at least most are one complete sentence (though for example The Cowboy's was a mere "Where's Daniel???". This time though... what the heck is whoever sends out these bulletins smoking?! Does a third grader write these? I mean, I'm a casual fan, I see this bulletin, so I click it. If they're lucky, it'll catch my attention and make me want to watch. So... what is the text of the bulletin for the episode "Yellow Snow"? "Jona's parent's" ??

Yeah, the bulletins have always been pretty nonsensical and usually have atrocious spelling. I like to pretend it is an inside joke about the spelling and content of an average YouTuber’s comment.
Well, they certainly have a pattern for the story. Whenever something bad\drama happens it is quickly followed up by a cheerful fun video. After fights with Daniel there was a happy video, after they went on the run (the first time) there were some happy videos. It is sort of like the opposite of the Joss Whedon format where whenever a character is happy you just know something awful is about it happen to them. I think his way works better.
While I’m on the topic of Whedon can someone please tell the phorumites to stop referring to Bree and the gang as the Scoobies. Not only is it horribly unoriginal it doesn’t even make any sense. They rarely do any investigating and monsters have nothing at all to do with the show. If they want a pop culture reference maybe they should go with the Road Runners as they always seem to run away and the Order seems to be as inept at catching them as Wile E. Coyote. Ok, that is pretty weak, but I’d like to see some originality people.
Ok, on to this episode. I’m not usually one to complain about the storyline, I usually aim my complains more at the meta issues of how the story is being told, but this whole “she has to choose the to do the ceremony” business is just plain ridiculous. First of all is she really choosing to do it when they threaten, lie, coerce, and blackmail her? Wouldn’t that be a pretty disingenuous agreement? And if they can force her to say yes, then why don’t they go full on Jack Bauer and just waterboard Daniel in front of her until she says yes
But beyond the logical issues of forcing or tricking someone to do something and then claiming it was entirely their choice, I have to wonder why it is even important for her to have to choose to do the ceremony. I would have been willing to believe they were religious fanatics and believe their dogma was absolute and had to be followed precisely, but since it isn’t a religion just a secret society I doubt that without any sort of theology involved that they would require things to be done so literally. I know Gemma was the one to call it a secret society and she was a double agent, but I can see no reason to believe she was misleading us on this point.
The only reason I can see for them to have to follow the ritual so exactly would be if the desired results where somehow supernatural and they couldn’t be achieved otherwise. Maybe I just watched too much Buffy in my day, but if the ceremony is to pull off something supernatural then that would be pretty lame and I think wouldn’t mesh with everything else in the series at all.
Oh, and I don’t think Jonas is evil, but I like that open storyline. It might be interesting if one of them became paranoid and began watching Jonas.

I've noticed another pattern. They will make a video that raises questions (intentionally or not) like, "why didn't that watcher guy do anything?" Then, in the next video they have one of the main characters voice that question and act as confused as the viewer. This gives the illusion that they are addressing the question, without actually answering it. They do it over and over. There's a lot of "question videos" where the characters are basically saying "I'm confused. This doesn't make sense." It gives the impression that at some point in the future we'll find out the answers to these questions, but they have a horrible track record so far of answering any of the mysteries of the show. I understand they want the show to run forever, so they want to leave the big mysteries unsolved till 2030 or whenever, but it would be sastisfying if they answered some of the smaller burning questions so we have some bearing on wtf is going on.
The problem is, they may have painted themselves into a corner plotwise. The only way I can think of explaining everything that's happened so far involves retconning.

Perhaps the "Choice" has more to do with the issues, Free Will vs. Determinism, raised in How My Parents Met. I am sure this is just wishful fanwanking on my part though as they never seem to resolve any of the old material presented (as Smashing stated). Perhaps they will in 2028.

Well... I haven't watched for about two weeks. And I return to find... I've not missed anything.
>.<
This was one weirdly light video considering they're on the run YET AGAIN.
And if they don't want anyone to know where they are... why film it? If the Order is everywhere, they're sure to know the general area where they were, right? I dunno.

Exactly how I felt Imp. Ah, on the run, where did I see that before...? And while I thought of the "Jonas is a spy." If they're going to his families "mountian cabin" it would seem reasonable that the Order would already be on to that. But then don't think too hard about all that the Order ought to be on or the whole thing falls apart.
Having said all that, I thought the performance of our three heroes was very good and there's an easy chemistry between them now. Sorry to offend some but I'm really starting to like 'Jonas' now, particularly since he no longer apperas to be a way to get rid of DB.
Did anyone else catch "Jessica Rose" in the credits for make-up on the "Grease" TV/reality show? That may be old news, just saw it as I flipped passed.

It's not offensive to like Jonas, I like him too now. Also, will anyone here be surprised if the Order eventually confronts them at Jonas's parents' cabin, and they flee to "Jonas's parents' seculded beach house"? I would not be surprised at all, but then that would seriously make me consider why I'm still watching.

Ha! That wouldn't be surprising but it would be hilarious for a moment and then we'd all start to wonder with you. It's a little like the 3rd season of Lost...

I hope Jonas' parents are at their cabin. It turns out they just didn't like him, and decided to move.
Maybe the ceremony being done by Bree's choice is more about what it will make her into once it's done. Like, she can't be high chancellor of the order if she hates them, so they're waiting for her to come around.

Interesting to hear Bree say that 'the watchers' didn't want to hurt her, or make decisions for her. I like really like this little insignificant bit of information, seems she is needed alive at the right time.
