An interesting observation on part of the vid:
A metaphorical response from the creators addressing the resultant uproar after the second CiW video. Pretty cool.

Umm yeah so apparently stuff is spiraling out of control with episode 100. Cassie's back... I hadn't even caught on to the "great uncle Franklin" thing as that idiotic dead Frank guy until the phorumites mentioned it. So apparently they called the number Bree said out loud, got a drycleaners message which contained a number. Then somebody got the idea to reverse the number and call that (how they jumped to that conclusion I don't know, it seems like too many random calls) and that went to a message from Bree's dad. Message here: www.acidfingers.com/music/bree_dad.mp3The message was IDIOTIC. I HATED IT. Seriously, nothing ever rubbed me the wrong way more than that message. Sure I'm overreacting, however I have a legitimate point. There is no way Mesh wrote that message. It sounds like Miles filth to me. This is the one line which ruined this thing for me: "Go to the place where we used to talk about Feynman and Jared Diamond"?! WTF that was LAME. I mean I love referring back to old stuff, but that was about the most blunt, blatant homage ever! Are you seriously saying Bree had a special "feynman and jared diamond talking spot"? Something about it rubbed me the wrong way, the way he so blatantly singled out two 'smart' things Bree famously talked about. When Bree did it, it was in an extremely random fashion, just sharing her knowledge. Now it kind of seems like all the smart stuff Bree knew were not such random things at all, since those things she talked to us about actually came from her father. I don't know, I just realllly disliked that part because Bree needs to be independently smart, not someone who got her two biggest "smart things" from her dad telling her. I found the way they were singled out and pointed to was such a stretch and very shoddily done. Perhaps if the dad had only said Feynman that would have made more sense, but throwing out two names, who are otherwise unrelated individuals except for the fact Bree brought them both up, is what got to me. Meanwhile, as I have not called any numbers nor plan on it, I don't even understand what's going on now. Phorumites are confused too, as the former cassholes that stuck around are now celebrating. Recall how gamehack Cassie mentioned Frank and all that? This, to them, seems to be pointing to a resurrection of the very same Cassie and they are rejoycing with a feeling of vindication, that this was the real Cassie all along. To the other extreme, at least one vocal casshole has called this the Creators giving the middle finger to all Cassie fans, because they say this is them re-starting Cassie as a character from scratch, and throwing away all the gamehack stuff, in a sense discrediting it (though I'd say the mention of Frank goes against that view). The third opinion, which is of moderates and the ones I agree with, is that this a way of incorporating and explaining away the gamehack Cassie before restarting the Cassie storyline their own way. Personally, I'd rather them just never have her be seen. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, ever series needs their Jennie Piccolo/Sheridan Bucket, and Cassie has been LG15s. Sadly if they incorporate her like this into the story line, she might show up.

Wow, I refuse to believe that anyone read that video as them saying CiW is (or was) a part of the story and not that it is (a several month old) commentary on CiW about how the creators thought it was neat after the first video, but then didn’t care about the second and due to complains they distanced themselves. I think it would have been more interesting if they had released this weeks ago, but I suppose later is better than never.
The whole phone number with a coded message that links to another phone number, which leads to a lame message, which sounds like it was written by an NES RPG writer, was I suppose an attempt at adding ARG elements. As the first half of this video was them commenting on the first LG based ARG it makes sense for this to be the first one of their videos to contain ARG elements. But sadly it seems their attempt is closer to CiW than OpAphid. Now, don’t get me wrong I’m not an OpAphid fan* but at least their puzzles seem interesting.
Again, I guess it is neat that they are trying new things, but it seems all these ventures often turn out kind of mediocre. Instead of attempting all these new things (which aren’t actually new or revolutionary) they should stick to what they can do well. OpAphid seems to know this, they put all their time into their puzzles. Sadly I am starting to think the people behind OpAphid know more about how to run a show than those behind LG.
*I find all their videos are just establishing shot montage masturbation. I don’t really care for Eisenstein and he did a lot better.

I didn't like the fact one had to call not one but two random phone numbers in order to figure out the next part of the storyline. We all remember the creepiness of calling random mystery people from the Cassie Dark Days, I still don't like the idea of doing it even if creator sanctioned (though the way one found the second number, getting one number and flipping it around and calling that could have been not what was intended. Of course it ended up being what was intended, but what if it hadn't been? Some poor sap/crazy serial killer might have been getting hundreds of calls from cassholes.)

From this day on I plan on speaking to my mother in the following way...
"Mother, this is Snow, your daughter. Could you please pass the peas?"
Like honestly, who speaks like that?

Like honestly, who speaks like that? only might also expect the dad to say "i love you" considering the circumstances, or at least something similar since they haven't seen bree for a long time, etc. mom and dad have apparently just been hoping that bree suddently decides to call the long-lost never-called uncle franklin, and then decide she should reverse the number because that usually works when you get a wrong number. oh, and thank you hye for saving me a lot of phorum head-scratching.

Oy milo, now that you lay out what just happened like that I see how truly lame it is. Of course Bree makes a big deal like, ok I'm going to call this near-stranger now, but I'm really nervous and don't want to. In fact, I'm extremely unlikely to, but since I've already told you about how much I don't want to do it, I think I will. I'll also make sure to say his phone number to myself, even though I know this blog is seen by hundreds of thousands of people who would harass this stranger with phone calls trying to find out more about it. Why would her dad set up the message with the person she was LEAST likely to call? I guess he trusted old Frank and was able to escape to his place, but still...

I haven't peeked in at the phorum about this, but how the heck would someone go about "telling" bree about this. That is, without seeming like a freaky stalker? As far as bree knows, we're all just watching her videos. wouldn't a normal person think.... oh yeah. we're talking about bree here.

I personally think the message was from the Order, posing as her father. That could explain how sketchy it was, as in him having to tell Bree that it's her father...
I mean, he asked to meet her somewhere... this could really be a ploy to trick her into their grasps so that they can kidnap her. Especially because of Tachyon's video where Gemma says that the plan or whatever isn't going to work with Bree.
I think it's the Order, not her dad.

I just spent a weekend doing that and in the end it all comes down to fanwanking because, well, that's all they have to work with. I kinda feel sorry for them, desperately clinging to an illusion that this makes any kind of sense. There is a section for in-character interaction with Bree but an essential framework is missing and there are huge continuity holes for any kind of interaction between the fans and the different POV's.

Just to make sure there's no confusion. I am not Bree's great uncle Franklin. It would be neat if he was an architect, though!

I think it's funny that she talks about using caller ID blocking just before she sends potentially thousands of kids off to dial seemingly random phone numbers to find clues. What...they got a lawyer writing this or som'n?
