This is one of my favourite videos so far. Everything was just right.

I have some trouble with this video. Once again it is with the motives of Bree and how she put the video together. Quiet in the back Jay, I’m not about to bitch about how she is giving her location away. The tracking device in P. Monkey, which Gemma tried to warn her about is doing that.
I’m going to complain about two things. First this video made Bree look like a real jerk to me. Presumably, we are all meant to be her internet friends and she knows we are worried about her, so she makes some videos to let us know she is safe and alright. But then why would you end the video so up in the air. We know that since she was able to post it she must have made it to a new hotel or something. Why not shoot an extra 15 seconds saying hey we got a new hotel room, isn’t it swanky. The only reason to cut it off like that is to create dramatic tension, but there is no reason that Bree would want to do that. There are of course obvious reasons why a filmmaker would want to and that is why it was done.
I think they forgot again that this isn’t a mockumentary, it has a different set of rules. There is no reason for the author of the video to want to make it more dramatic. They are not telling a story, they are just updating their friends.
My second complain is along the same lines as my first. It is the music during the chase scene. It works great in the scene it makes it very exciting and it was a fun to watch. The problem is Bree would never have set a soundtrack like that. It trivializes the idea that she was really being chased. It turns it into a bit from a movie. Once again this makes perfect sense if you are a filmmaker since you want the score to enhance the scene. The only explanation that I could see for this is that Bree is in denial that she is really in danger, and to try and reinforce this denial she fictionalizes the danger by turning it into a scene from a movie.

the music in many of the recent videos is more film-like than vlog like. in a video like this, i just pretend that bree didn't put any music on it at all, because there is no way she would have. the music is there to enhance the viewing experience, like a laugh track, which is an external addition.
another topic: are we to believe that helicopter was related to the Order?

Was there a clearly visible air conditioner?

Hi...I'm a newbie, but maybe my "fresh view" will mean something. While I DO hear the music in each episode, I think it works like the device that it is; almost subliminal but an intregal part of the vibe being created (is that too schmaltzy?)

I try not to pick apart the addition of music and the thoughts behind where and when they uploaded the video and why they didn't let us know they were okay. I think its necessary to suspend disbelief to enjoy it and for the story to be entertaining.
Thats why I enjoyed this video. I did have the thoughts of the music etc, but I pushed them aside and concentrated on the plot development.
Also, as a jokey sidenote, perhaps they didn't make another video saying they were okay to leave Gemma dangling - since she didn't seem overly concerned! They are teaching her a lesson!

My second complain is along the same lines as my first. It is the music during the chase scene. I think we are seeing yet another example of how the "dramatic" vids don't seem to Mesh (hee) with the vlogs... I much more prefer the vlog format, for many reasons I won't go into here. That said, I don't see how they could add all the dramatic elements that they want to use to enhance the story without using this more dramatic, flim like, style of vid. I guess one could argue that these vids should not be done at all and the whole series should unfold strictly as a vlog. But I think that cat is already out of the bag, for better or worse. Beating the old tired logic horse, why would DB take a video camera to the grocery store? I know when I scurry up a tree to grab a banana I don't usually film it for posterity... My point, the logic of the whole series is inherently flawed but I am going to try and sit back and enjoy the story. Now as for that Helicopter.... "Look! Up In the Sky. It's a Bird. No, It's a Plane. No, It's Free Evil Order Aviation Footage for the Production! Shoot it Miles, Shoot It!!!" Damm just when I was trying not to be too snarky...

LOL, now let's not be grumpy with the production team for being resourceful and thrifty, now that they have to pay all these additional people.

I actually applaud them for making use of free production elements. I would rather they spent the money on a feather boa that is up to the rigors of the road. Maybe LL Bean makes a rough and tumble model...

I always consider the filmic qualities to be an extenision of Danielvision. The music isn't quite non-diagetic since we assume that they put it on as they were editing it.
I suppose it's his choice of music that is questionable, but Daniel's a bit of a drama queen so it makes sense to me.
I like that swirly shot in the motel.

Or, maybe the order caught them, and the order put the video up, so we assume they arrived safely. We know that what's-her-name (bree's helper) uses a computer, so who knows. Of course, that would break through into the safe Us'n'Breeniverse.
