lonelygirl15 has now passed brookers to become the #3 most viewed channel of all time, over 15 million video views. (she, of course, also became the #1 most subscribed last week sometime - and is now over 40K now in subscriptions, 13K over Geriatric1927)
Look at these video views for LG15, these are huge numbers for youtube: TODAY: 498,524 (#1) (#2 is 193,584) THIS WEEK: 1,106,648 (#1) THIS MONTH: 6,271,915 (#1) (#2 is 3,878,301) ALL TIME: 15,091,447 (#3)

Question is how many of those views comes from unique individuals. At least 40k but not as many as 400k? Or what do you think? (I have seen several of her videos more than one time, some of them up to 5 times or more. But maybe that is not the most common thing to do.)

I would agree, that total number of views is not a good indication of audience reach. It's hard to get any reliable stats. The only thing I would personally trust are probably the Nielsen Netratings figures on Unique Browsers, or YT server logs (since they don't publish unique audience figures). I am not sure whether the data on vidstats is accurate, but it looks pretty consistent: www.vidstats.com/users/lonelygirl15/All-TimeNow, if we assume that on average, each video is viewed twice per given unique user (which would be optimistic I think, because each user views the videos at least once, and often the video is counted while browsing through etc.) I think we are looking at an audience of about 200.000 viewers max. I also have no good stats on the web traffic (again, can somebody just shill out and get us the Nielsen report, pls *g*), so the only thing I got going on is the Alexa figures (which are pretty dodgy in their methodology). Lonelygirl15.com www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=www.lonelygirl15.com&url=lonelygirl15.comAnchor-Cove.Net www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?url=http%3A%2F%2Falissabrooke.proboards56.com%2FI am not sure whether I am interpreting the numbers right, but we take a huge chunk out of the proboards56 server. Now comparing the sites, we have more registered users, but ours requires registration, so that is not surprising. LG15 definitely has more unique browsers though, but that's also not surprising. Either way, our two boards, which I guess are pretty much the largest slice of the online posting community, are only a drop in the bucket of the LG15 viewing audience. So, for example, when people talk about CIW being super-popular they only speak of their narrow field of vision, i.e. their own community. In the overall picture this hasn't even registered with the audience yet (at least not the casual one). So, I am glad the series is going the direction it is going right now. Anybody check up on my assumptions please? Can you confirm that? EDIT: I just tried refreshing some videos, but the counter din't react. Is YT views unique visitor views? Or unique session? Or just some lag in the counter?

Youtube counter is severely whacked. For often it remains at the same hit number for hours at a time, I've seen it in the past few days stay the same for half a day or so. Then eventually it just jumps up to the real number and then stays there for awhile.

New numbers:
Bree now has over 44,000 subscribers, and without having studied this formally, she appears to be picking up about 500 a day. By Crowleymas, she could easily be over 50,000.
DanielBeast is over 8,000. And although he's not listed on the most subscribed channel, he'll probably pass FilthyWhore (thank God) later this week and become the #15 channel.
Who are the 36,000 people subscribed to Bree but not Daniel? How many people watch it through MySpace? How many watch it through Lonelygirl15.com? How many people aren't subscribed, but go to the LG and DanielBeast YouTube page every time they are on the site? The true numbers are highly elusive.
But, the impact is for real. Lonelygirl15 has 7 of the 100 most discussed videos. No other user has that many videos on the most discussed.
Her top video is still My Lazy Eye with about 980,000 some views, ready to crack 1 million. I remember noting about a month ago in the old forum, that the video crossed the 750,000 mark. This means that even in reruns the show is getting 50,000 views a week. That's substantial, even if about 50 of those views are mine.
Her best videos are still about a million views away from the all time most viewed list. But it's hardly a fair list... it's basically a who's who of the YouTube featured page. TheHill raps to Lazydork & Lonelygirl and spends a week on that featured page? Why YouTube likes to shove this crap down people's throats is beyond me.

Most of the video's on the most viewed list are humourous clips. They tend to be the sort of things that get sent around in emails etc. Lots of people watch them without searching for them, thy are probably unware what the 'proper' video's on youtube actually are.
