Well Milo you may think it is a "phun phorum" topic but the moderator there thinks it is has been discussed quite enough and planss to lock it. And, due to my comment about his (Broken Kids) heavy handed moderating style. I have been told not to "stir up dissention" and he feels that "I ...have a beef based on past experience" [and yes for those who may ask I did tell him I was once SLainte and that I would be happy to rewume posting as such so as not to be accused of what you guys call being a "sockpuppet"

We'll see how things work out...I'll keep you posted. But really we know no good will come of this.

Does anyone remember the phorum exodus? As I remember it, there were two main reasons that people wanted to leave the phorum. The first, and the reason why I left and the reason this board was founded, was to have a place that was moderated, controlled and organized so we could discuss LG. The new phorum has more than satisfied this old fault, and that is likely why its rebirth was a success.

The second reason that a lot of people left the phorum was because they felt it was over moderated - that Bukanator was trying to prevent people from finding the truth and was deleting and silencing posters to stop people from talking about certain subjects. Although at times Buka did delete a thread or two, or combined threads making it much more difficult to find old information, I never felt he was activity trying to stop discussion of topics that he did not like.

I’m not so sure I could say the same about the current phorum. I see threads locked a lot, and often for no other reason than to just force people to move onto a new topic. All the mods I worked with seemed like nice people and trust me working with some of the people at the phorum can be very tiresome. I believe they are doing what they think is in the best interest of M&M. But the problem is the site should be about what is in the best interest of the fans. I wonder if it will ever reach another tipping point and people will flood to a new site in pursuit of the freedom of a site run for the people.

I agree, they seem to lock threads when it's a "dissenting" opinion and not fanboy or fangirl drool post.

I understand about the soockpuppet thing and I don't want to confuse everyone by switching again.... I kinda like the name It is Gaelic for "Cheers/Good health!" an Irish toast (the avatar is acuatally the print I made for my Tattoo).

i feel bad about your fear of the sockpuppet thing, as i was the probably the 1st to mention this to you, but really sockpuppets are usually created to support a person's arguments (i.e., "milowent you are indeed a sage voice a reason"), and you never did anything like that.

Glad to hear more are jousting at the phorum. I can be somewhat interesting at times and does make for occasionally mischievous hijink adventures into absurdity. I think TWJ and company may be taking themselves a little too seriously and they could use a little mischief to liven things up.

Damm I miss our Journalist friend, his wit was razor sharp and dead on. Especially on all matters phorum related...

Not only is Milo a Sage, but he is listed as a musical artist in the LGPedia! (see above paragraph)

BK: In our recent PM exchange, I told you that I would not "cause dissent in the forum" and that if I had any problem with the moderators etc, I would try to address it in that (PM) manner.

I intend to keep my word, however, since my last post concerning this subject somehow failed to post before the topic was locked I hope you will allow me this final comment on the subject here.

It was a vigorous debate on a topic that aparently interested many of us. While it did contain one or two brusque comments, it seemed that everyone was holding their own; I've seen other threads get way more nasty.

As for your offer to

unlock it now and let folks talk about it

It will do no good now. The damage has been done; it's time has passed. I would ask though that in the future we all try to be a little more tolerant of each others contributions. Members certainly but moderators especially.

I think probably very few of us are professional writers, critics or filmmakers. We're fans, some educated, some not so much; some wise, some just silly, some urbane and some naive; some articulate, some not so much; but unless there is clear malice, slander or liable I think we can be trusted to hold our own. I really don't think it is anyone's role to "let us" talk about something.

Okay. I'm done. Move this if you must to the wasteland of "Complaints and Concerns". I've said my peace on the subject.
If I have casued dissent I hope it is the sort that encourages open and honest dialogue, not the sort that you and I were concerned about.
