We were talking the the chat room last night and were tossing out ideas on where the stories is going. Terry brought up the idea that the darker tones the creators talked about coming up is going to be Daniel getting more creepy and obsessed with Bree. That he could end up hurting Bree in the delusion of helping her. He put it better as he always does but I think that's what he was getting at. We had joked a week ago of doing a Taxi driver spoof to one of Daniels video. I would like to see this played out if the big ceremony is nothing but Bree busting a few moves talking in an old dialect and drinking some peyote. Not sacrificing Daniel or bleeding or getting pregnant. That the real dark tones are of Daniel stalking her. I want my Daniel goes ape sh** video. Terry stop being lazy and add to this, you to jay

Yeah, that was Terryfic's idea. I don't know why he's been so apathetic toward his homeboys in the Cove. Ima start smiting you if you don't come back, Terry.
It'd be a classic bait and switch, portray Bree's religion as weird, and Daniel as normal, but then have her religion turn out to be pretty harmless, but have Daniel go insane. It would be very Blair Witch. Normal blogs from Bree's bedroom, crazy blogs from Daniel's Web cam. Maybe this is why he's named D-Beast.
I say it's unlikely. I say, no way do they expect the audience to accept this religion as normal -- not with Crowley and all his baggage, not with oppressive parents who have their daughter basically imprisoned, and not with a girl the size of Bree supposedly on a diet.

You guys are right; I have been a terrible resident of Anchor Cove recently. I blame this on a couple things: school starting up, me spending most of my time just in the chat, Alissa getting me addicted to RO, but mainly I have just been getting kind of bored with LG15. I think in an effort to try and get more interested again, I will begin posted more on this board. And now the feature presentation. My theory that I was talking about in chat evolved out of our repeated discussion that there is no evidence that there is anything creepy or dark about Bree’s religion. There is of course lots of circumstantial evidence, and many people just love to jump to conclusions. I think that is what the audience is meant to do, I think we are suppose to believe that the religion is evil or at least the coming ceremony does not bode well for Bree. It is at this time that I remind everyone that M&M have described this series repeatedly as a mystery. If the plot follows this obvious path then it really wasn’t much of a mystery. I also have real doubts about this plot as it is very ‘hollywood’, it is clearly a contrived plot which would never happen in real life. When you compare that with how the series is produced, it looks almost Dogma 95 and I can see little reason for pursing such realism if you plan to do such an unrealistic storyline. So my theory is that this whole religion\ceremony storyline is a red herring. The mystery and the ‘dark’ elements will not come from it at all. Instead it will come from Daniel, a boy captured by Bree’s beauty, who was rejected by her. Although Yousef himself is a handsome man, Daniel is not, I never believed the two would get together, and still think it would be awkward and forced if they did. Although the story is still focused on Bree I think the character development has shifted towards Daniel, first with him getting unreasonably mad and yelling at Bree, both on and off camera, and now him following her against her wishes. Currently, Daniel’s actions are still supported by the audience; we are worried about Bree and want him to keep an eye on her for us. But I think Daniel is beginning to descend into madness, a jealous rage directed towards the girl he loves but can never have. Ultimately, I think Daniel will become obsessed with her and trying to save her, since deep down he romantically believes this might allow him to ‘win the girl’, but it will turn out that she doesn’t need saving, that her religion is very plain and run of the mill. The villain of the story will be Daniel, or more specifically a combination of Daniel’s jealously and anger that Bree will not accept him as a lover, and Daniel’s religious intolerance, his jumping to baseless conclusions that Bree is in danger and her religion is out to get her. This is still a very soap operaish story, but I think it is far more realistic and appropriate for a mock vlog than a story about devil worship and virgin sacrifices. Another big reason I do not think this is a story about Bree’s religion is how much of a background role it has played. Yes, it has been the catalyst for most of the drama, but the real story has been about Bree and DB’s relationship. Perhaps, this is all just my desire that the plot is not one that was predicted 2 months or more ago.

Given the recent events in Amish country, I hope that the creators (back to small c for not controlling the ciw bullshit) take a long, hard, look about delving into intolerance of "strange" religions. I agree that the central storyline will revolve around the relationship between the Breester and DB. The religious elements will only provide a backdrop for the drama between the two.
We still do have the Cassie and Science teacher dangling plot threads, I am sure they are going to work these in but they may just be delegated to minor plot twists.
I admit to getting a little bored and am beginning to lose interest. Part of the appeal of all of this was the playful fun of the early vids, with a big dose of clue hunting. It seems to have lost this part of it and there really does not seem to be much interaction with the fans as promised. I am beginning to think that the creators are not going to be able to deliver the goods, more in line with what they have (not!) done with their phorum.
The plot may have played out too early in the game and they may not have the writing chops to continue the story once it has taken this more somber direction. I think that they really have to pull something off with character development or plot to keep my interest. It seems to be heading into a rather trite, rejected male, storyline.

Terry, that is a great theory for the plot.
Daniel is obsessed with Bree. We know very little about Daniel - he never talks about his parents, whether he is going to college, nothing. (OK, he likes comic books and computers.) We've had hints from Bree that Daniel has told others that she is his girlfriend (Imagine Daniel being taunted by his friends that "Bree" doesn't exist, like that proverbial wallet photo of my teen girlfriend who "moved back to Sweden")
This is a much better than my theory of Bree being saved from a funeral pyre on 10-12 by Daniel decked-out Rambo style. Maybe that's what he'll actually plan to do.

*does best Bree impersonation* My religion is not creepy at all. It's run of the mill. Boring even. I just can't tell you what it is, because you'll think it's weird. Because the fact is that almost no one is a member of this religion. But it's not weird. It's just that I have to do a secret ceremony. Really, it's just like a Bar Mitzvah or a confirmation only my parents aren't allowed because they aren't high enough in the, uh, organization or...look I don't want to talk about it...I'm uncomfortable because I can't explain it...I just do it because that's how my parents raised me...these are just iron pills...Aleister Crowley was a great man...can we go now?
*On the other hand we have*: I don't think there's anything weird about me following Bree around town with my video camera, hiding in my car, or in the bushes, then posting the footage online. It's perfectly rational. I mean, how dare she choose her religion over a dinner date with ME?! Sure, you might think it's odd that since I graduated I don't seem to have a job or go to school, but loving Bree is a full-time job. To hell with her family, to hell with the commenters. Bree and I were meant to be together...and nothing will get in my way....nothing.

I think in an effort to try and get more interested again, I will begin posted more on this board. So I don't have to start smiting you. In fact, exalt! I've found this forum more conducive to my declining interest in LG. It doesn't take too much time to stay on top of the threads -- I avoid the other forums and the constant prowling on YouTube. This is no longer an obsession that's crippling my work and social life (and make no mistake, in early September, we were all badly crippled.) The plot may have played out too early in the game and they may not have the writing chops to continue the story once it has taken this more somber direction. I think that they really have to pull something off with character development or plot to keep my interest. It seems to be heading into a rather trite, rejected male, storyline. I fear this is correct. But while my interest in this has gradually declined, I find myself increasingly interested in the concept of the Internet Miniseries, and I'm happy that Anchor-Cove is starting to cover other IMS. This could become a significant genre in entertainment, and we could be sitting on the cusp of the mainstreaming of the IMS. Is any other Web site devoted to the IMS? Then we should be the first. loving Bree is a full-time job. How true, how true. The bottom line in all of this is that the Web management has been disastrous, the production haphazard, the quality of the storyline dubious at best, but Mesh's Bree is a solid character and Jess is absolute magic.

Word. Thanks for reminding me that there has been some REALLY, REALLY, REALLY,...REALLY good stuff put out by these guys. Yes, Jess rocks and Mesh has created something pretty cool! I guess it's hard to concentrate on the good stuff when the web management bungles have squandered so many opportunities. I also have to remind myself that I am pretty web savvy, as are many of the posters here... If this thing would have been managed well on the web side, it could have been groundbreaking. I think we need to stay as the vanguard of the IMS. I bet the new site could be adapted to handle this. Vanilla?
