Anyone who uses video editing software to edit their videos can already make their video's YouTube thumbnail any picture they want, as long as they put it in the exact middle of their video. This leads to a lot of awkward cutaways in the middle of vidoes, and now LG is forced to play this game as well by inserting frames. I propose that YouTube let you use any frame of your video to be the thumbnail. If you don't choose one, then YouTube will pick a default frame, but it will be from the first few seconds of the video, so it won't be a spoiler. I can't imagine that YouTube hasn't already considered this! There must be some technical problem holding them back, like they don't want to have to shut down the whole site while they retool, but it seems so simple. I hope they change it.
