Here's another possibility: Anthrosophy, based around the work of one man, Rudolph Steiner. They have communal living settlements called Camphills all over the world, though I couldn't find any located in New Zealand. There's not much connection to Crowley, but it's generally thought to be "evil" and "Satanic" by Christians =) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthroposophy

Ooh, good one!
Only I think that Anthroposophists (?) tend to send their kids to Steiner schools rather than homeschool them, so that might not have worked.

There is a movement within homeschooling that employs the Waldorf (Steiner) theories.

is it possible its a mixture of various belifs made into a self-made religion? maybe her parents are a part of a cult that has employed various belifs...also one would think that any homeschooled child would only learn what her/his parents tought them...my gut says its darker then what we may be thinking

My gut says they included a picture of Uncle Al to get people thinking about a cult, did not realise how it would be picked apart and quickly wrote in the plot on an upcoming ritual.
I do not think this was intended to be as dark as people have made it but the creators will play along in the hope of higher audience figures.

I don't know too much, but it seems grounding wouldn't be an educational tool in anthroposophy. And what would the ritual be about?

Klintron, I am hardly one to think the Thelema is dark now am I. My comment was in regards to cat's opinion it may be darker than we all realise and the speculation over cults in the past few weeks.
Regarding the pictures just found of Jessica/Bree, we can rule out cults now I think.

Regarding the pictures just found of Jessica/Bree, we can rule out cults now I think. I don't follow... I know the actress has been outed, but how does that rule out what kind of religion she is playing being a member of? Or do you mean the promotion of a cult?
