It is late so no idea if someone posted this on the previous board. The Horus-Maat Lodge celebrates the Feast for Life in their organisation calendar this year to coincide with Crowley's birth. www.horusmaat.com/HMLCALENDAR.htmlThe Feast for Life reference courtesy of Liber al vel Legis 2:36-44. The link to that is here ---> perdurabo10.tripod.com/id408.htmlBut once again this being Bree asked to take part and the parents not being involved does not reflect the following.. "This ceremony is not the same as a baptism. In our Church, baptism is taken by an individual who is of sufficient age to make the decision to do so. The Feast for Life is our ceremony of welcoming a new child into the world of manifestation, of declaring our intentions to protect, instruct and assist the child in his/her efforts to discover and accomplish his/her will, and sharing a token of our pledge in the sprinkling of water, a symbol of love." The larger text is here www.hermetic.com/sabazius/feast_life.htm

I don't think that her parents not attending is important. What she said was that not many people are invited. Her parents are not among those that are. I wasn't under the impression that they were not going BECAUSE they are her parents. I think they are not going because they have not be invited.
Does that make sense? If not I will try again.

The ritual has parents involved. Why would they not be invited?

Ok my point wasn't about this specific 'ritual' maybe I should have made that clear.
I will wait until I get home to re-post what I meant.

*smiles* I think I get what you mean now, just I was on the hunt for any specific ritual and how it could be discounted or proven.

Ok so what I meant was.
When LG is talking about her parents are unable to go to the 'thing' I got the impression that they couldn't go because they are not invited. People seem to be assuming that they cannot go to the ceremony BECAUSE they are her parents. The fact that they are her parents has nothing to do with the fact they cannot go.
See says 'Even my parents cannot go.' I think is she was trying to say that parents cannot go because they are parents should would have pharsed it differently, although at teh minute I cannot examplify.
This is my opinion anyway.

"My parents won't even be allowed to come," is the exact quote.
It's true that it's not necessarily a cause and effect thing. She didn't say, "my parents can't come, because parents aren't allowed." And she did say her mom will help her with the exercises. Also, I think this is the first time she specifically mentioned her mom. She always talked about "her dad" and "her parents," as I recall.
