Maybe I'm just watching too hard, but could that be the tip of a knife or dagger?

you: I'm just a little worried about people running off to secluded parts of the woods on the whim of some videographer. What if someone gets lost, drowns, or two people get into a fight over the bag? Most ARG's that have people going off to places don't send people into areas that are dangerous. me: free speech doesn't foist any sort of responsibility on the speaker beyond that of the clear and present danger principle. none of what you mention would amount to a CLEAR and PRESENT danger. If I got you right, you are saying the creators could not be sued or be held accountable in case someone is out there and an accident happens right? If I understood you correctly and if what you said is right, the creators don't need to worry about the legal aspects of it. However, I sincerely doubt this new way of "telling a story" will succeed if something wrong happens with a fan that is in the field trying to be part of the story and that MUST be one of the creators concern. They NEED this new way to succeed. Keep in mind there are a lot of freaks out there, who may use the actual hints and puzzles on the game to harm/take advantage of one that is just trying to play nice.

Keep in mind there are a lot of freaks out there, who may use the actual hints and puzzles on the game to harm/take advantage of one that is just trying to play nice. oh they could be sued, but there's a difference between being on the wrong end of a suit and being found liable...for one, authors aren't normally found liable for the multtitude of stupid things that free indivviduals take upon themselves to commit... and think about it...cases show that hustler can have an article that demonstrates autoerotic asphyxiation to the letter even when a kid tries it and dies (real case), you can write a book that teaches bomb building skills or assassination techniques evven if someone puts them to use (real case), and there's been cases where people standing in front of a crowd urge the audience to "break necks." these are all real cases. one hypothetical illustration where the speaker/author would be liable is if they say made a radio sweepstakes where the audience was urged to race in their car to the station, the first arrival winning a thousand bucks. the clear and present danger doctrine is pretty forgiving and not applicable to this video! no WAY! now that's the law...you're correct in saying that having blood on your hands isn't a great way to promo a vid. but this isn't a very NEW way of doing things, guys...everyone keeps talking about what this reminds them of...war of the worlds, ARG, reality tv, and the like...we're intelligent people...the reason we have these ways of making sense out of it is because THAT"S WHAT IT IS!!! eversame/evernew!

Got your point satan. Sorry, but, the way you said it before made it sound tottaly unreasonable, like you were saying, "I don't care if there is real blood; the show must go on. "
When reading your first paragraph above I immediatelly thought of War of the Worlds and then you mentioned it in the second parag.
I guess you are right, Im sure old Orson wouldn't become so famous if he had said upfront: "This is all just a show everyone! Be carefull not to hurt yourself while running away from pretend aliens"
However, keep in mind that since people got really desperate and even hurt in the occasion, he was always seen as a weird, somehow hartless guy, regardless of the really good stuff he did afterwards.
(Damn I have work to do, but, this thing is sooo addictive...)

Not sure in which thread I read this, but, many people are saying Cassie's Myspace if fake and has nothing to do with the production.
However, one of her 4 friends is Jess Rose's actual profile that was turned into some kind of Fan thing. So, I conclude Cassie's myspace is really part of the game... Right ?

I think that Jess Rose is accepting nearly all friends requests right now. So I don't think that this is proof that Cassie's myspace is "in-game"
