Not only did he get the "most subscribed" wording wrong, but as a TV geek I must point out he totally bungled the Murphy Brown analogy. There was an episode of Seinfeld where Kramer got a job acting on the sitcom Murphy Brown. Murphy Brown the person didn't exist in the "Seinfeldiverse," if you will. One can look up crossover on wiki for better examples, but Gemma is neither a crossover, spin-off, or fan-fiction. She's just another character. I wish commentators would do their homework. The Time article on YouTube was a welcome exception to a lot of poorly researched press.

Yeah that bothered me, there was no cross-overing what so ever. Gemma is no more a crossover than Paul & Andrea who came before her, except that now Bree interacts with Gemma, well did once or twice. Now Gemma just spews her advice and Bree (hopefully) ignores it. This was merely the introduction of a new character. There was a TGIF on ABC one night years ago where I think Salem the Cat from Sabrina ended up on every show that night, each of which had a time-traveling theme because of something he did. That is crossover. A real crossover would be Bree hiding out at the NoHos apartment, now that'd be something.
