www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qoi3oNPwr9ESummaryGlad I could help you get the blood sample. Here are some parting words of advice. ------------------------------------ I think any old qualms about realism are shot in the head, stabbed in the heart, beheaded, drawn and quartered, cut up into little pieces and encased in concrete graves at the four corners of the earth. But, I can't wait for Spencer to mix up a special face cleanser that will give our heroes superpowers to face their new super villains.

I thought this video was pretty darn good, despite the abandonment of all sense of realism.
That said, I liked this one more than any vid I can remember in quite a while. I at least can maintain a SOD based on this offering... Yes, it is way off the map, but I liked it. Double Monkey India Pale Ale bonus points for the Gemma shout out.
I am encouraged, kind of.

Really, CG? Really? Encouraged?! I thought this episode was pretty much of the same caliber as all of the recent ones.
I do like the fact that Alex returned for a bit, mentioned an old character (even if I hate that character), and addressed some old aspects of the plot but I am disappointed with how it came across.... as I have been with all of the episodes, particularly in the last few weeks, that seem to have bestowed on us an after school Disney Sci-fi feel. I can't see the series improving, especially not based on this episode.
I love the way you explained it, Terry, hehe. Couldn't agree more. And yes, I'm waiting for Spencer's miracle serum as well. Imagine Robo-Jonas! Oh, they could now be like the Power Rangers!
I can't even defend the, 'well if you view this show in a postmodern, or absurdist light' theory, because even in those genres you need narrative truth (where by things make sense in their own context. They don't necessarily need real world truth, just to make sense in their own world). I mean, honestly - how is is that 15 year old Bree and her parents who are/were just ordinary members of some religion called the Hymn of One know what The Order is, and yet these super-human Shadows/Watchers are actually hired by by the freakin' Order and don't know what it is. Oh fine, it's just 'another cost to being super-human' or somethin' somethin'....erm yeah..... "We've created this evil secret society called 'the Order' which is after these young girls for some evil purpose...'' (Goodfried).

If I didn't force myself to get positive every so often I would stop watching altogether. We all deal with this in our own way I guess...

Shadow Members! A whole new category of baddies and a whole new tattoo. The scourge of the end of season 1?, and presumably season 2. Just like Buffy -- every few months a new unspeakable evil force is mentioned that you never heard of before.
But kudos to the C's for finally trying to create a breeniverse that is more complex and nuanced than just BREE and the CEREMONY.
And I like Aunt Alex, though why say she has to go away for real long time? And I suppose they just couldn't come up with a reason for her videoblogging this right? There can't be one.
Oh, and from last video, and TCC = The Clarion Call? Was there any way we could have figured this out before? It just as well could have been my top two choices: The Canon Cassie, and Taig's Concerns and Complaints.

Alex is leaving for a very long time? Noooooooooooooooo! I can't take this much heartbreak twice in one year. PS I'm not convinced that absurdist comedy mixes well with scifi horror. Would you pay to see Monty Python's Blade Runner?

Yes there were absurd premises, but we've moved beyond the whole "I'm a real vlogger" bree. Considering what they're working with, if they can move spencer on from painfully unfunny, to roundedly humourus then this path could be entertaining.
At least they (He?) is doing a decent job setting the scene for the finale.

At least they (He?) is doing a decent job setting the scene for the finale. I completely agree! I'm just looking for some sense of "closure" at this point. "He" also has to set a stage for the next phase. Can you imagine trying to write your way out of this mess? WE tried on several occasions and I really never saw any plausible remedies to the problem. Yes, I am a confirmed Mesh Phan Monkey... Perhaps I should consult P. Oprah for guidance on said closure.

Right. Closure would be good. I'd recommend "he" keep a blog about things from his perspective... Whatever he does , let's not have another "message from the creators".

THEY ARE THE EARTHS TRUE MENACE.
really, creators?...really?
I think it's pretty cool that they don't sleep, though. I mean, if there were a possible combination of drugs to do that I'm sure they'd want to keep it under wraps in order to fuel their meatheads to keep away meddling teenagers rather than share it with the world as one of the most monumental inventions in history.
maybe I'm taking that too literally, though.
And that was a scooby doo reference!

I like the fact that they have given more of a face to the enemy. I hope they have an increased presences (ideally if they started posting their own 'private' vlogs as weekly reports back to the Order or something) and they had better have more personality then the watchers who have the depth of a cardboard cut-out. I want them to be either super cool like Spike or super creepy like Renfield. Either way they will have to be pretty daft villains as they willing to take the killer drugs for a cause they don't really know anything about. What I don't understand is why the villains had to be super-villains at all. It is not like the Justice League of Breerica could defeat regular goons, suped-up goons are just overkill.
I will be disappointed if Daniel - the comic book geek - doesn't note how they sound like super villians or make some sort of comic book allusion in the next video. I think this direction could be funny, but it will be harder to keep it out of the just silly and cartoonish category.
