Bree's dad... Drew.
Wow this is weird. Today in the shower I randomly thought back to the whole "Drew Avery" saga. I don't know why, random things come to me. I never thought it'd be accepted as canon though. And yet Jonas makes a point of throwing that name in there when referring to Bree's dad.
Pretty weird, because Nikki is still FAN FIC and even states in her video that Drew Avery is a space-filler type of name to use in the place of actually knowing his name. The odds that Nikki would get it right like that are astronomical, and really messes with the line the fanfic they create and the canon they create.
Of course, we could chalk this up to a victory for "fan interaction", cough cough cough.

One thing interesting about that is that the name is the one picked out by Nikki B. from suggestions by fans, the name she picked, Drew Avery was suggested by Luvs2Skydive. Luvs2Skydive, was one of the funniest Phorumites, she is no longer with us, having found more exciting things to do with her life. To continue the "lament" of how things have deteriorated, one of the alluring things about LG15 was the creative exchanges in the Phorum, the bizarre tangents and the hilarious off wall twists that the discussion took. It seems that many of the funniest , most creative and intelligent fans have sadly stepped away from the show. omg, how adorable is he?
The drew factor detracted from the gravity of this video for me. it was sort of like being smucked upside the head with the "interactivity" of the series.
I guess I could've kept Drew Avery in my evil gene articles afterall.

Okay, it really bugs me that they used the name 'Drew.'  Consistency is sacrificed yet again. One good thing though, I am glad that it appears that they are going back and addressing older parts of the plot that haven't been answered yet. Spencer must be the neutrogena guy then. As gilman is... gone... man. Oh and the mention of YouTube... I had to laugh. Firstly, how hard is it to create an account? Poor Daniel! Secondly, much kudos to Jonas for a pretty decent Napolean Dynamite impersonation. But it could have done with a "gosh" or two. I wonder if now we have to go on the hunt for a new account to see the HoO videos. ETA: Okay, I know that "in plot" Daniel created all the videos etc etc... and it was his videos that got all the views, but it still sounded pretty funny with Jonas saying all the time and effort that went into creating the YT account... Especially because they all but ignored it completely for a great deal of this series. |

According to the transcript of this video Issac Gillman is the father of Spencer. I'm confused. ETA I figured out where my confusion was coming from, on Spencers myspace, he lists two heros not one. I know this is a radical suggestion: this video is better than Sweating Bullets. no egg.
Hye: We all know Nikki is not fanfic. She's friendfic, which has its own rules. She has made a number of contributions to the main storyline: she found the watcher symbol before BD&J, she found Jules, etc. Its possible the Creators even signed off on the selection of Drew Avery name before she decided that was the name to use.

I actually like this one. Something about it just seemed more "professional" for some reason. Kudos for even addressing previous plot points instead of laying on yet more pink herrings! Sarah is even more pointless when she is not contributing her (totally unnecessary to begin with...) sex kitten schtick. I'm sure the actress is capable of more than that, they just need to develop her character into more than a cliche. Oh, and LLC  is still MIA. |

i think the hullaballo about the youtube account is that daniel has taken over the lonelygirl15 account, and this video is posted there -- it was the videos daniel helped bree make that made that account a success.
but jonas' indignation reminded me of youtubers who get upset when their accounts get messed with.

Presumably, with both Daniel and The Hymn of One posting to Bree's youtube account, Jonas could easily just delete the propaganda video he so despises. They also at any time could change the password so that Bree could no longer use it, though I'm guessing she still has control of the e-mail which she could get a new password sent to. She also could have easily changed the password and such as well and lock them out, but I'm guessing that they're both going to tolerate each other's existence posting to the channel for the sake of the show.
