Ok, from the C's standpoint.....are the numbers they're getting bad, mediocre, good, terryfic! MySpace: 413K views, 1018 new subscribers YT: 458K (for the recap vid), and they've picked up 1000 subscribers in two days, when they had been stuck at 95K for some weeks... Oh, just noticed (Ms. Wily found it) front page of NYTimes.com bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/08/03/seen-lonelygirl15-on-a-new-site/Coyote says.....I'LL TAKE IT!

413K is the hype number they will pass around to the media. A better number is 26,000 that is the peak of any individual video, so their audience is closer to that. Plus the videos average 63-66% rating on MySpace so that means of the 26,000 only around 16,900 like the show.
If all 26,000 of their audience didn't have a MySpace account (which seems pretty unlikely) and all signed up, was paying for the exclusive rights worth 26,000 new members?

i think the number will take some time to parse. only so many people can keep up with this. the total number to view any part of the finale is still a relevant stat.
plus this event is feeling somewhat historic to me. mark this post, lol.

From the NYTimes piece it looks as though they entered into a revenue sharing agreement rather than purchasing the exclusivity rights...
the recap video on MySpace has got 200K by itself...

Yes, I didn't read that piece before I posted. It makes sense for both parties that way as neither have anything to lose and both share of each others popularity. It will be interesting to see if there is a spike in YT viewership after this and if so how long it lasts.

some current stats on the lg15 myspace video channel:
Total Plays 517,139 Subscribers 1,236
so, over 1/2 million views in just over 24 hours or so (spread among the vids). that's a stat we may hear.

For all the Stats Nerd Fighters out there: 22 hours after the first of twelve was released.
Total Plays 628,654 Subscribers 1,347
Max Views for a Finale Vid: 62,238 Min Views for a Finale Vid: 17,428 Median Views for the Finale Vids: 25,085 Average Views for the Finale Vids: 28,942
1-11 of 12 are all rated between 63-65%, 12 has an abysmal 24%

I think 12's rating is the most important because its the last one they saw. A huge amount of people upset with it = a huge amount of people not coming back to watch more.
Also seeing as they were advertized on the MySpace front page, one of the top front pages of the entire internet, I don't think whatever numbers they get are overly amazing. Anyone with anything advertized on the myspace front page will get a huge amount of views, its a fact of life. They do have the right to tout their views though because by whatever means they still got it, though it does make them look more popular than they are.

Not noticed in all the grieving is that the You Tube LG recap video has almost a million views (950k at the moment) since being posted on Aug1....that's certainly a record for LG....in fact, hasn't it taken months for any of the other videos to reach 1 mill ? . . . . nothing like a bit of pub I guess....
and 98,300 subscriptions....should break 100K finally.....after being flatlined for the past several months...

I believe My Lazy Eye has as 1.5 million views and I remember it shot up to a million or so very quickly (I don't have any numbers in front of me so I could easily be mistaken). It is very rare for a video older then a week to gain many views unless it is later featured or outside attention to brought to it - it really is all about those first 48 hours when you are eligible for the most viewed\discussed of the day. But, for a recently video the recap has been doing well. I think what likely helped this video (besides being well produced and understandable even to non-fans) is that it was featured in the promoted section of YouTube, which isn't as good as getting featured, but does get you on the front page.
ETA: Well my memory sure isn't what it use to be, thanks for correcting me Jay. Could this be the first 2 million view vid? should they forget about actually making season 2 and just release a season 2 recap instead?
