I wrote a message to the YouTube editor post-Bree's death and mentioned that she had died and they should feature something related to LG15 to bring news of the passing of the number 1 youtube star to the rest of the site. Of course I thought perhaps the whole putting the finale on myspace and not youtube could be problematic. And there's the fact a single LG15 video has never ever been featured despite the amazingness of some early ones and the whole popularity to begin with. Well, they did feature something discussing the death of Lonelygirl15, but it's extremely pointed satire skewering Bree. www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2Tgv2VJEEsHe actually mentions LG15 being Scooby Doo-ish, does he read here? Haha. And also alludes to a Daniel-Jonas relationship. He does dramatic readings from the script totally lambasting it. We totally could have done this and gotten featured ourselves. (By the way he's also kind of... really annoying himself, so the whole complaining about LG15's annoyingness while turning your own annoying factor up to 11 doesn't exactly work. It was kind of funny though. I got off to a bad start with it though when he blamed LG15 for the rise of such stars as Brookers, when everybody knows Brookers had basically come and gone by the time LG15 started, and that Bree envokes her name in the first episode as a way to refer to already popular youtubers and develop a relationship with fans that way.)

That guy could give Nikki B. a run for her money if he would just fire his barber and find a new optician.

950,000 views for this vid. wow. this guy has decent views on his vids (80,000 or so), but nothing above 100K before this one. once again it shows that although lg15 itself never gets featured, anything ABOUT lg15 that gets featured gets huge views.
its weird to hear someone who really never watched the show talk out the season one recap vid and finale.
a professor finley reference from 90210?! that's pretty obscure. haha.
he does say he finds the show kind of charming ... ... because its so bad though.

I thought the video was ok. I'm not really a fan of his style of humor, but I'm familiar enough with it to say he does it pretty well. Personally, with the love\hate relationship the youtube community has with LG, I'm not all that surprised that YT will only feature LG once removed. Their slogan is Broadcast Yourself, and I think a lot of people still think of LG has a big studio job, bigger then Ask A Ninja at least. It doesn't matter if that is true or not, that is public perception. So by only featuring videos about LG and not LG itself they can still bring attention to it without it looking like they are endorsing it.
I noticed that this dude was apart of the new partner program, has anyone been keeping track of the partner vs non-partner featured video ratio?

I noticed that this dude was apart of the new partner program, has anyone been keeping track of the partner vs non-partner featured video ratio? i have not, his channel is now the #50 most subscribed all time (20,149 subscribers). he joined youtube may 1, 2007. clearly this is not just a solo venture. its funny how youtube will feature people who want desparately to move past youtube (like this guy and lisanova), and the one group that seems committed to online video for its own sake and youtube just don't seem to get along.

This is a little off topic, but someone hacked Daxflame's channel today, and reduced his subscribers to 0, so some people must hate Daxflame more than they hate LG15, no one has done that to Lonelygirl15 yet I don't think. eBaumsWorld is claiming responsibility

If I recall correctly, Dax had a "My Last Video" just last week. Not sure if he had any videos after it, as we know the My Last Video poy is a common one (Lisa Nova and Danielbeast are currently employing it) and almost always done for other reasons than ceasing videos, however it's funny timing no matter what happened.

Yea it was funny, he just posted a new video today, saying how he reconsidered and is going to keep making videos, he described a plan to take care of the haters, basicly the plan was to spam the haters with kind messages, kill hate with love sort of idea. I guess the haters didn't like that idea. I was watching as it happened, if you refreshed every once in a while you could see his subscriber numbers falling.

looks like he has done a "i'm back" video now. i saw something that said he "left" because his identity (madison patrello) was widely disseminated.
ETA: rob's post beat me. wow. i'm surprised you can hack into an account and eliminate its subscribers. i wonder if that can be reverted.

It can be reversed. Account hacking was all the rave a few months back. Remember a bunch of people got their accounts hacked and videos deleted. Most of the hacking is either an malicious link sent via a PM, or more often by using a phishing account to trick the person out of their username and password.
It is very hard to hack an account if they don't help you in some way.

Yeah, Dax has been orchestrating all sorts of things all over the place. It's his talent-hungry dad who has been trying to make $$$ which has fueled it. It's all a big conspiracy, but instead of that just being a paranoid rant, it really is true.

they (whoever they are) have attacked lg15 too! lg15today.blogspot.com/2007/08/lonelygirl15-youtube-subscriber-base-is.htmlsome comments from lg15today: elixir said... Geez, I can't believe YouTube could be hacked into like this! And it's not only bad news because the subscription number is down to 0, but LG15 (and Daxflame for that matter), no longer show up in the list of most subscribed to channels of all time. That's really bad news as far as advertising goes. Hope it gets fixed up soon. August 14, 2007 3:45 AM Killthesmiley said... lisanova and communitychannel got hit with it last night too August 14, 2007 4:01 AM Anonymous said... People from 4chan.org and 7chan.org used a firefox script and process to lower the subscribers. Currently they are trying to get smosh down to 0. Just contact youtube about this problem. They are trying to get a reaction out of you and just doing this for some laughs. If you don't believe me, check it out, under the Random /b/ section. August 14, 2007 4:19 AM Anonymous said... Here is the current thread on this topic. if there are others, they are either being done independently, or from aim/irc chatrooms, or other sites. The main thing they want you to think is that it is from some other site as they don't like attention. img.7chan.org/b/res/1209510.html-- the first post in this thread explains how they do it: then there is a macro people can use on firefox to automate this process. i also noted these recent comments on the lg15 youtube channel: TotalKO1 | August 14, 2007 Onto Tay Zonday /b/rothers! I just watched the video about it. I can't believe such a simple bug can have this much of an effect on such a huge website. It's ridiculous.
