I didn't notice that, that's curious, I wonder why. Me too. I prefer Revver, to be honest. The embedded videos looked hella sleeker that way. Perhaps it's because LG15 is blue and Revver's big color is green? haha. Or maybe they only went to Revver for the money making aspect, but now they're part of the partnership or whatever it's called at YT, so they'll make money that way? I do not know... Also, I'm not a terribly big fan of the redesign...yet. I'm giving it time.

Phorum 3.0 looks "Flashy", I guess it is a template that uses .swf elements. Seems fairly fast, although it is a little disorienting having the avatars on the right side of the screen. Best feature: Ability to block out all posts by a user. Anyone come to mind? (no, not you Slainte) ETA:The "First Episode" button on the splash page loads the Purple Monkey vid, not the "real" first episode.... Copyright issues with music? ETA2:Just noticed that the KM forum is a separate entity. Makes sense, kinda...

from yesterday: Interesting to watch how this develops: " Revver raised the stakes this week. Until now, the company would run small graphical ads at the end of every stream. Creators would be paid only when someone was tempted enough to click on the ad. Now Revver will be testing pre-roll ads. No action will be required to generate a piece of the ad revenue, but the ad will run before the actual upload. www.fool.com/investing/general/2007/07/19/show-me-the-money-youtube.aspx

Nice connection Milo!
I know I would be much less likely to watch LG at lg15.com if it meant I had to sit through an ad first.

the new page is very jarring to me. i don't like change for change's sake. i don't like the new lonelygirl15 logo either.
it won't even let me log in (and i tried the new password thing), will have to attend to that later.
hopefully i can customize a skin or something to make the forum look like what i was used to?
the revver account for lonelygirl15 is still up (http://one.revver.com/account/show/lonelygirl15) but mission possible isn't on there. anyone who wants to download high quality versions of all the vids better get busy, just in case they disappear.
CG: dorkiness prevails has never been on revver due to copyright issues, as well as lazy eye.
i wonder if embedding using youtube again (like it was back in july-august '06) will help lg15 videos rise in the charts on youtube.

OH, sorry for Doublepost, but forgot to add (and i'm sure we'll all notice tons of differences soon):
as predicted (by rob?) all the thelema connections are gone.
but lazy eye (embedded from youtube) is back. if they're gonna put that back, might as well put back dorkiness prevails.
AND with the ditching of revver, what happens to video responses?
they all appear to be gone right now. what about all those fans who pretty much abandoned youtube and used revver to be loyal to the creators? assuming they ditched revver and aren't available on youtube (like the later lonesome october videos), those videos are kinda lost for now.

One of the big pluses (at least in my book) about switching the response videos back to YouTube is that you can use any creative commons music, and not just the non-commercial stuff. Well, you could use any music at all as YouTube doesn't seem to care that much about unlicensed use of music. I kinda like taking the time to search out music I am allowed to use, it makes me feel more.... professional I guess. Anyways, back on topic. If I remember correctly the revver vids use to get 10,000 to 20,000 views, so that will help get the LG vids higher on the most viewed lists by a little bit. If they could get the meepers to post at YouTube they were dominate the most discussed list. I've looked at the site a couple times now and it always looks a little incomplete to me, perhaps it is. I also find it a little amusing that they don't have any sort of privacy statement yet, but do have a giant terms of use document. A quick glance at the TOU shows it is a little bit insane, like in section about linking to the site they demand that you first email Greg and ask permission... right. ETA: I'm also displeased that as I understand the Copyrights section, they are using an all rights reserved instead of a some rights reserved copyright. Which is just dumb, that means no one can use any stills or footage in fan videos. I don't think this is going to be enforced, but it is really lame to include it at all. ETA: The section on Access and use seems to contradict the copyright section as it grants the right to create non-commerical works derived from the LG vids. So ironically, it looks like you couldn't post a LG fan vid on Revver now if it is in anyway based on LG ETA: I'm not sure about this but the section on Proprietary Rights reads to me as if you post something to lg15.com they can then turn around and sell it to someone else and they don't owe you a thing. Jeromy and others may want to read of this carefully. ETA: From the prohibited content section "Prohibited Content includes Content that: ... 8. provides any telephone numbers, street addresses, last names, URLs or email addresses, including in your Member profile;" - This might make playing an ARG a little tricky

re revver/youtube, i hadn't read all of BK's post at lg15today (presumably taken from phorum 3.0):
"....However, if you plan on adding video responses to either series, you should edit your profile on the video page and add your YouTube account. It will be easier than ever to add a response to a video, but these responses must be added via YouTube.
The forums also got an upgrade. The new version of forum software allows many great new features such as subscribing to topics and threads, bookmarks, drafts for private messages, “friending” other users, and more. Take a look and get used to the new sites."

So a few things that might help with the forum (and don't ask me any of the particulars about the design or the switch from Revver, because I have no idea): - If you're logged into the forums and it says you are not logged in at the main page, go to the forum and logout. Then logging in should log you in everywhere. - Clear your cookies! They're finding bugs and playing with the cookies to get it right, so you might want to do this often while they work things out. - Go to the bottom of the forum and click "Delete all board cookies". Some people who weren't able to post on the main page were able to after doing this, even if they cleared cookies in their browser. I'm not sure what will happen with old video responses. However, it does sound like there are a lot of new fan video improvements still in the works. (I know I know, we've been told that for ages, but in talking to the web guy, he's got some really cool ideas - all custom stuff.) Not sure what happened with LGpedia. That's a shame. Yeah, the new look and feel of the forum takes some getting used to. But it has some really impressive features too, if you're into that kind of thing. Personally, my favorite thing is that it's 100% width. I hate set-width websites on a decent-sized monitor. 100% width is good! Anyway, that's my 1.5 pesos.

thanks for the update BK. i figured out how to log in.
but let's get those avatars on the left. i've never seen a forum like this. not saying no forum does this, but maybe they are only hebrew langugage forums where its natural to read right to left.
