I went back and watched the early videos too. They really were great and brought back a great nostalgia for the begining of the series and a great sadness for what the show has become. It could have been... It should have been... But it is now what it is and I'm glad we still have the old videos to look back on

The early LG15 videos don't make me cry, you know what makes me cry? The LonesomeOctober videos. Why oh why did he stop making those? *cries*

I miss all of his videos too - especially the Owen diatribes. *sighs wistfully* I miss the old days. [Old days = up until January, I'd think.]

It seems when they didnt know what they were doing it was fine.. Perhaps by instinct.. Then they started to realize they were having some success and they.. Well.. They just.. Hell! They Screwed up big time!
You know what I think? They saw that the fame and the success they were creating was being unclaimed and unnamed and they slowly became smigols from TLOTR and they all mutated to greedy stupid versions of themselves and lost their initial idea about LG15.. All they cared for was being recognized as "The Creators"..
But you know.. I'm partially guilty for this too.. We all are.. I mean the audience.. Because we wanted to know.. We couldnt resist to find out wether Bree was real or not.. We fucking had to figure this out.. And we were smartasses enough to solve the mistery but where stupid enough to not see the creators would change and the story would not be the most important anymore.. Their egos would be.. LG15 and the M&M shit factory died the day we found out who they are.. I guess thats the mark of the real geniouses: They dont let their creation overtake them.
We had to prove them how smart we are.. We had to find it out.. We made the same mistake: We couldnt see beyond our egos.
Now we blame them.. But they have probably about the same right to blame us as we do.. We kindda took their virginity away.. They were not ready for the success.. And we took away from them the chance to grow up and become creators mature enough to not loose their heads as they did.
I'm sure you still remember that interview in which the 3 of them were pack into a sofa like tined tuna obviously very uncomfortable just because they all wanted to get credit for it.. Their answers were so made.. So artificial.. So previously pacted.. bah!
Maybe we all should entone "Mea Culpa" while walking on our bare knees.. Or maybe we just couldnt care anyless.. But I think we all agree its a shame the way this has gone.

Wow, the more you think about it the more this whole thing appears to be one giant Shakespearean tragedy. Both the audience and creators are tragic heros thanks to each having our own tragic flaws which led to the collective downfall of the series. How... tragic!

My guess is Greed and the reaction they got from US that the clues and detective work were the main interest. Wrongo moose lips, it was all about the Characters. The clues were just part of the side-show. Bree and Daniel's Characters, and to a lesser extent Joan's, have been the best part of this. Bugger the cloak and dagger absurd plot... While I usually agree with you CG, I disagree that it was, or could of been solely about the characters, though that is their strong suit. Character development without a story to go along with it doesn't make much sense to me. I started watching when "Boy Problems" was first posted, at first I didn't get it, I didn't understand what was so interesting about a teenage girl talking about her problems with her parents and her boyfriend. It was the mystery that hooked me. When the picture of Crowley was discovered and there was suspicion that something strange was going on I was captivated. I thought the cookie video with the clues leading to the the date of Crowley's birthday was brilliant, as were the clues leading us to Thelema. The suspense leading up to the ceremony was excellent. As I said in a post a couple of days ago, the let down on 10/12/06 the day of the ceremony was the first turning point, it was after that that it became more and more evident that they were playing it by ear, making it up as they go. A story needs a beginning, a middle and an end, they didn't have a story just a formula. The formula being to keep adding plot twists and clues to fuel speculation on the forum even if they lead nowhere.

Ok, ok.....enough Covetching! Enough ranchor! .......! Time to step up...... If you were a creator who had suddenly gotten the Cove religion, how would you right the ship? What brilliant new plotlines can you come up with to restore the early greatness......? With these caveats: 1. They can't go back to the bedroom. 2. There has to be some modest ARG element to satisfy the phorumites. 3. It stays PG13 (sorry Alissa).
Ten bucks from the Buckmeister to the winner (I am da judge). And twenty if it actually gets used.....(I am also cheap)

Welcome back buck, missed as always! I KNOW that number 1 has to stand, but whiiiiiiine can't we get around it by renting an apartment in the same complex and recreating it? Shouldn't be too hard. I miss the room so much! Whiiiiiiiiine

Number 1 is as much a psychological constraint as logistical Hye......Bree'ss outgrown the bedroom psychically, the dad is dead (presumably) and the mom is . . . . what? So what does Bree do there? Boogie? Mourn? As T. Wolfe so rightly put it, You Can't Go Home Again.....

Ok, ok.....enough Covetching! Added to the Lexicon, I guess we owe you $10-$12. The New Cove Times has a few interesting stories.

Pfffft. If there can be gunshots, psychological torture, sexy older aunts, and slutty schoolgirls... there can DEFINATELY be a make out sesh between Danny-boy and My Pretty Jonas.
